Berta — Restaurant in Gharghur

We were told that all tables outside were booked so we sat inside for an hour or more, then as we left, there were still 2 empty tables outside...Great reservation management skills!!!

Food, I wasn't embarrassed, far too expensive for such a small menu that leaves you with nearly ZERO options. I even ordered wine (Imported). It's got to be the most horrible wine I have ever had in my life. I left half of the bottle and most of the food.

So basically I spent EURO 70+ for a local cheese platter, insipid risotto and a bottle of wine. By the way, who told you that was my partner? Mind your business. A bit expensive for what it is. To spend 8 euro for a burrata salad which consists of a burrata, 3 slices of a tomato, 2 cherry tomatoes,and a drizzle of pesto, pine nuts and raisins.. It is a bit ridiculous.

Dessert was made worse by the fact that hey had practically run out, with only a choice of 2 desserts plus cannoli. I tried the cannoli, and it was 3/4 empty.

Coffee was pleasant.

This place has spent too much time trying to be pretty (which it is) and not enough time on the actual food. If you are going to set up in a difficult location like Gharghur, where patrons are going to come specifically for your coffee shop, you better be prepared. Lovely place, lovely decorated and cozy atmosphere. But to get the menu we had to wait for 10min even though only 2 tables were occupied. We decided we waited too long and stood to leave, then they brought the menu. After we said we are leaving cause its taking too long to even bring a menu one of the people working there said “food takes long cause its fresh, otherwise go to Mcdonalds”.
