DON'T GO HERE!!!
This place serves old, stale pastries/desserts, and claims they are fresh.
We ordered a brownie a few weeks ago for a €5 and were surprised they put it in the microwave right in front of our eyes.
Even out of the microwave, the brownie was still tough and stale - evidently, it was baked days ago and stood on the counter for a while.
We decided this was an accident and ordered a chocolate Au Pain today. First of all, the price is egregious (€4.50!!! This is not Rue du Bac in Paris, this is San Gwann, wake up! You can buy 5 Au Pains at Lidl for this price, and they are BETTER). Second of all, I explicitly asked the waiter if the Au Pain is fresh. He said yes yes, and had enough audacity to ask if I wanted it microwaved!???
Of course I don't, it is a fresh pastry, right?
Well, I went home, and to my complete surprise and disappointment, the pastry was hard as a rock, completely stale and dry. It must have spent days on the counter.
I am so incredibly disappointed in this place, not only because they scam customers and sell out of date desserts with a premium price tag, but also because they lie to their clients in their face.
Please don't go here, support local and better places nearby rather than this chain, which seems to have...
Read moreI went for brunch with my baby and some friends, but unfortunately, the service was quite poor. The waiter seemed to be in a very bad mood—we could even hear him banging things in the kitchen—and he cleared the dishes with noticeable frustration.
We ordered our food using the QR code. First, we ordered some croissants, and he explained that the classic ones were unavailable but they had pistachio croissants. Later, when we placed the rest of our order, including some pastries, he came back to our table and told us—quite rudely—that we needed to “understand” that there was only one pistachio croissant left. According to him, pain au chocolat and cinnamon rolls counted as croissants, which felt misleading.
Some extras we ordered never arrived, and our coffees were a mess. The second floor was also extremely hot, making the experience uncomfortable. When it was time to pay, we asked to split the bill since we were five people, but we were told it wasn’t possible.
Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. However, I want to highlight that I have been to other locations, like Valletta and Naxxar, and everything there has always been excellent! The food is great, so it’s a shame that this visit didn’t live up to...
Read moreI got the WORST and rudest service I have ever received. I’m not exaggerating. The waiter was extremely rude, it seems that he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. First, we ordered a croissant, and he came already angry saying they did not have croissants, so we ordered a cinnamon roll. This man came again furious saying that he told us that they had no croissants, to which we replied that a cinnamon roll is not a croissant. He then angrily replied that for them it was (?!). Then, he started cleaning the table next to us, angrily tossing things. Finally, my friend ordered a cappuccino with cinnamon, which came sweetened. She went to change it, and this individual said that the cinnamon was a syrup (which he obviously didn’t bother to explain in the first place) and told her he would change it in a very bad manner. He again started tossing things. If you can’t control your mood on a bad day, don’t work in a service job. We are paying to receive a good service, not to be scared to ask the staff for things. This man can’t be dealing with customers, he simply...
