Unfortunately I need to give 1 star (would have given 0 if the option was available) to the Restaurant for the absolutely disastrous service that we experienced while 'dining' there last night.
We ordered 2 regular pizzas: 1 Margherita (go vegan option - this was emphasised thrice from our end) and 1 pizza 1/2 Shroomy 1/2 Detroit Zoo.
Throughout the order, the waiter had difficulty understanding us, he seemed unable to comprehend basic words in english. We kept on repeating the order to ensure that we get the food we need.
Fast forward to the delivery of the pizzas, and immediately we noticed that both the Margherita and the Detroit Zoo (automatically vegan) had dairy cheese. We asked the waiter and he went to confirm.
Instead of accepting the mistake firsthand, he tried to reason with us that Detroit Zoo is not vegan but vegetarian (when there is a clear VG next to the pizza and we did order it before without issues during a previous visit). He obviously was confused as to which of their items are Vegan or Vegetarian.
Finally he checked with the chef and informed us that the wrong pizza will be replaced by a vegan one. Moreover, he assured us that the Detroit Zoo (although it did look different to us) is vegan and we can go ahead with eating the pizza until they prepare the Vegan Margherita.
Surprise surprise, one bite from Detroit Zoo and it happened to be with meat. When confronting the waiter to check the order, it was confirmed that despite us repeating the order countless times, he wrote 'Detroiter' which happens to be a meat pizza. He was citing problems with their ordering system.
Safe to say, this was the most unpleasant experience that we have ever encountered in a restaurant. We left the place and we are sure not going to trust this restaurant again because the level of unprofessionalism was off the charts.
It is a shame because our first experience at Detroit was pleasant. But yesterday was an absolute...
Read moreDetroit Style Pizza in St. Julian’s is one of my go-to spots, and every visit is a great experience! I’ve been here many times, and the pizza is always top-notch—thick, crispy, and full of flavor. This time, I decided to try something different and went for the Sausage & Mash (€16) along with a Coke Zero, and it did not disappoint! The portion was generous, the sausage was flavorful, and the mash was creamy with a delicious gravy.
The service was also excellent. Dave was serving us, and he was very polite, professional, and attentive throughout. It’s always great when staff make you feel welcome, and he definitely did. The restaurant itself has a nice, cozy vibe inside with a modern touch, and the outdoor area is great for people-watching while enjoying a meal.
I’m also sharing photos of the menu, the restaurant interior and exterior, and of course, the food. If you’re in St. Julian’s and looking for great Detroit-style pizza or other tasty dishes, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly...
Read moreWe had an incredible dinner, it was our wedding's anniversary and we heard that the BBQ Ribs were amazing. We tried before the pizzas and loved them! But we wanted to try the main plates... We ordered a full rack of BBQ Ribs and, of course, some Doble Pepperoni Pizza too! The service was great and very helpful, the music, the ambience and the decoration, all perfect! Had some red wine, start with delicious brie bites (were too good to wait and take a picture, hehehe) the pizzas were delicious, there is nothing like it in Malta and we loved them again. But the BBQ Ribs were OUT OF THIS WORLD! It was truly the best we ever had! Totally recommended! To finish our lovely dinner, we had an Apple Crumble Squillet with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel... perfectly made, not too sweet, sublime! Congratulations to the Chefs, well done guys! We will come...
