Our beautiful meal @peppinos_restaurant The view is stunning! We were strolling along the bay after our ice creams and saw this quaint little restaurant with two tables outside. We saw that two people were just about to leave and darted across the road. We arrived around 6pm and were lucky to get a table as when we left after 8pm there was a queue for tables. The waiters were fun and full of personality. The decor had the old fashioned charm which added to its character. I was dubious that the food would be good as they are in such a prime location. Thankfully I was wrong! The orata (seabream) fish was beautiful flavoured with capers and dill potatoes (I will be doing a recipe soon) the fish was ever so slightly overcooked however very forgivable. The fish was slightly on the small side. The lamb chops were deliciously tender and really flavoursome. The three slices of potato and the pea purée that accompanied the lamb were little sparse. The vegetable couscous was tasty. I would recommend booking if you would like one of the two outside tables. . . . . #malta #maltarestaurant #maltarestaurants #lambrack #orata #fennelpotatoes #visitmalta #maltafood #maltafoodie #maltafoodies #dubaiblogger #dubaitravelblogger #dubaitravelblog #saintjulien #thegreedyone #thegreedyonetravels...
Read moreWifey had this place on a list of "Where to eat in Malta" and we managed to visit on our last night and we were not disappointed.
There is also a lovely view of the bay from the front balcony.
Wifey chose the rabbit and I had the Black Angus Beef Burger.
There was a surprising amount of meat on the rabbit and it was lovely however Wifey says she likes a lot of sauce and should have asked for some more.
My burger was lovely and thick and solid meat, no packing mix in this one. It came in a nice bun with lettuce and gerkhin and a sauce that was like a peppery hollandaise, which they called Fry sauce. This was accompanied by a bowl of fries and a small bowl of the Fry sauce. All in all it was nice but I would, in future, ask for the burger to come without the sauce. Maybe I would add some or maybe another sauce or enjoy it without any sauce such was the flavoursome quality of the burger.
Additionally the owner looks identical to a friend of mine but about 30cm shorter so I had to have a photo with him to show my friend Matt.
Wifey was quite right to have this place on her list and the owner says that (paraphrased and might not be a direct quote) "if it is not the best meal in Malta he will pay the bill" so you have...
Read moreTripAdvisor rates this restaurant as number 1 in the St Julian area. Sadly we totally disagree. We booked online, having researched the best place to eat. We chose the first floor balcony table. Options were wide open and we booked 7.30pm. Arrived and the Front of House asked how we had booked. He explained that their covers are limited to 2 hours and should be 7pm and 9pm sittings. He asked us to vacate our table by 9.30pm. Not a problem initially. Our server was superb. From Bulgaria, we had a great conversation with him about how he had ended up in Malta. He looked after us really well - he was very attentive and professional. However, the Front of House asked us to hurry up just after 9pm. We were just waiting for our desserts. He said the next couple who had booked the table were waiting. We said we were waiting for our desserts and coffee. He interrupted us again at 9.10pm and I felt this was very rude and was spoiling the end of our meal. He made me us feel very uncomfortable and unimportant. Not how we expected to be treated at all and not the way customers should be treated. The Front of House was just interested in getting every table filled, no consideration for the actual customers. Sadly we were not at...
