Our experience at Rainforest Cafe in Malta was one of the absolute worst. dining experiences I've ever had - not just because of the cold food, but because of the way we were spoken to and treated. Me and my friends had arrived from London and were genuinely excited to try something different. The restaurant looked fun and seemed promising, so we decided to give it a shot. But as soon as our food arrived, that excitement vanished. Everything was stone cold. And I don't mean lukewarm — it was so cold that the butter on the steak did not even melt at all. It was bland, lifeless, and honestly, felt like leftovers from another table. Naturally, we brought it up with the waitress straight away. We didn't complain rudely — we just calmly said the food was cold. But instead of an apology or a solution, we were met with snarky comments like, "Other people got their food at the same time and they're not complaining." As if we were being difficult for expecting a hot meal? It felt dismissive from the get-go. We then asked to speak to a manager. Conveniently, the manager was in a "meeting." So we asked for the assistant manager and was told they were also in the same meeting. At this point, it felt like they were trying to dismiss our comments and Finally, when another manager came over — things got worse from there. Yes, she eventually admitted that after checking their systems, she could see our food had been left sitting out for several minutes before being brought to us but instead of owning the mistake with a professional attitude, she became passive-aggressive and rude. When we explained that usually we are not treated like this when it comes to customer service, she said things like, "This isn't your country. This is not your home. We do things differently here. You should go back." It was deeply uncomfortable. Not only was it condescending, it felt xenophobic. We weren't being entitled or unreasonable — we were simply trying to have a respectful conversation about poor service and food that wasn't edible. Instead, we were made to feel unwelcome and like we didn’t belong because it was clear we were not locals. One of my friends had already paid for her meal and asked for a takeaway bag. The manager looked her up and down and said, "Well, you must have really enjoyed it then, if you’re now trying to take it home." What kind of comment is that? She only paid to avoid more issues and hassle. And now she can't even take her leftovers without being pestered? To make things even more awkward, when we went to complain to ANOTHER manager about what had just happened, that same manager spotted us and tried to intimidate us from furthering our complaint as she claimed there was nobody higher above her. At that point, just wanted to get as far away from the place as possible. The whole experience left a really sour taste in our mouths — and not just from the food, but we felt like outsiders who weren't welcome. And that's something no one should have to feel, especially not in a place that markets itself as "fun" and "family-friendly." Safe to say, we won't be going back and I understand now why the place was completely empty. If you care about respectful service and basic decency, I'd strongly recommend you don't even bother with this...

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Rainforest Café in Malta, and it was an experience we won’t soon forget. From the moment we approached the restaurant, we were captivated by its exterior, featuring a charming monkey—the café’s logo—that welcomed us with a friendly smile.

Upon entering, we were greeted by a vibrant shop offering a variety of plush animals and souvenirs, adding to the café’s immersive atmosphere. A talking tree welcomed us, setting the tone for the adventure that awaited inside.

The interior of the café is a visual delight, designed to resemble a lush rainforest. Artificial plants hang from the ceiling, and the lighting is thoughtfully arranged with bright spots, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Throughout the space, animated animals—including elephants, a puma, monkeys, and a snake—bring the environment to life.

During our meal, the café’s dynamic nature became evident. At one point, the lights dimmed, and the sounds of angry elephants filled the air, accompanied by the movement of the animatronic animals. This unexpected “storm” added an element of surprise and excitement to our dining experience.

We began our evening with the Jamaica Me Tiki cocktail, a delightful blend of Bacardi Superior Rum, Aperol, mango syrup, pineapple juice, and sweet and sour mix. It was exceptionally delicious, and we were impressed by the quality.

For our main courses, my wife chose the Fish and Chips, served in traditional English style with coleslaw, tartar sauce, and Safari fries. I opted for the Rainforest Burger, featuring a brioche bun, beef patty, lettuce, tomato, melted cheddar cheese, red onions, and pickles, accompanied by fries. While I requested cheese fries with extra bacon, this modification wasn’t possible, so I settled for the standard fries.

The portions were generous, reflecting the American-style servings, and the overall value for money was satisfactory.

To conclude our meal, we indulged in the Sparkling Volcano dessert, a rich, warm chocolate brownie cake piled high with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel and chocolate sauces. This decadent treat was perfect for sharing and provided a sweet ending to our dining experience.

Our server, Birsana, stood out for her exceptional service. She was attentive, engaging, and made our dining experience truly memorable. Her friendly demeanor and willingness to assist were greatly appreciated.

While some staff members appeared a bit overwhelmed, Birsana’s professionalism and dedication made a significant positive impact on our visit.

In summary, the Rainforest Café in Malta offers a unique dining experience with a diverse menu, generous portions, and a captivating atmosphere. Despite minor service inconsistencies, Birsana’s outstanding service ensured a memorable visit. We would highly recommend this...

Excellent Food and Outstanding Service

Visiting Rainforest Cafe Malta was truly a unique experience. From the moment you step in, you’re immersed in the atmosphere of a tropical rainforest, beautifully and intriguingly designed – with the sounds of animals, lush greenery, and a special ambiance that really makes you feel like you’re in the heart of nature.

What truly stood out was the quality of the food and the professionalism of the service. The menu is diverse and offers something for everyone, from fresh seafood to delicious burgers. The dishes were tasty, well-presented, and the portions just right. Everything was prepared with care and attention to detail, which added to the overall impression.

The staff was very friendly, attentive, and quick. Our service was flawless, and Viktor kindly checked in with us to see if we needed anything else. It was especially commendable that he was well-versed in the menu and was able to offer great recommendations.

Rainforest Cafe Malta is definitely a place we will return to. It combines an exceptional culinary experience, top-notch service, and an unforgettable atmosphere that makes you feel as if you’re in the heart of a tropical jungle. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for...
