Appalling customer service. Would certainly not come back. We sat down and no one came to take an order for about 15 minutes until we called someone over (the restaurant was not busy at all and there were at least 4 staff members walking around). The starter was brought out before the drinks and even though was described as including sourdough bread, this was not brought out. We requested it when we saw it was missing and the waitress brought what can only be described as basic white bread, and described it at sourdough, after we had eaten half the starter. The starter itself was average at best. It consisted of a quartered cucumber over some feta cheese. Could have made that at home without paying a fortune. For one of the mains, we specifically asked for seabream with the dressing on the side. We were very explicit with this. The waiter repeated the order and confirmed the dressing would be on the side. We then also told an additional waitress just to be sure and she confirmed. Surprise surprise, the dish came out drowning in dressing. I raised the issue with the original waiter and he asked whether it was okay to wipe the dressing off! I said it wasn't and he then said he'd place a new order. The other dish (an equally below average burger with a lettuce leaf on the side described as "salad") was in the meantime getting cold. The fish with the dressing on the side eventually came and was certainly not worth the wait. After consuming this dinner regretfully, we asked for the bill, which took about 15 mins to arrive (the restaurant still empty). There was no attempt to offer anything complimentary for what happened whatsoever, even after I had a word with the staff member to re explain the issue. I can't think of anything that went right with this experience to be honest. Cherry on the top was the extortionate bill. Absolutely not value for money. Ruined one of our...
Read moreDon't usually write to complain but today my family and I were rather angered by what happened at Seed Restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Yesterday afternoon, we booked a table for 4, for my father's birthday. We asked them wether our small dog would be allowed inside, to which the person who handled our booking confirmed that our dog would be allowed. She had to go inside to confirm with management but when she returned she said that our dog would be allowed. We then confirmed the booking. Unfortunately when we all arrived at the restaurant today we were not allowed to sit at the table that was booked for us due to our dog. I am well aware that some restaurants and hotels don't allow pets and although I dont agree with their policy I respect it. What I don't understand is why it is so hard to educate your staff with your up to date policies! On my father's birthday we were left without a restaurant due to the incompetence of management. The waiter who told us we could not enter was not too rude thus I will not mention his name. He kindly called management and it is them that I am writing this post for. Matthew, I kindly ask that you ensure that all your staff are aware of your policies. Also in this case were you have a family that pre booked, the least you could have done is offer a suitable solution. (Offering us a table in the damp drizzle is not a suitable solution!). I am utterly disappointment with the appalling management of Seed...
Read moreWhen Seed promise you "Flavourful Moments" your expectations are immediately raised. Not to mention the beautiful decor and imbiance inside a brand new hotel, with a beautiful piazza outside. But what about the food? Nothing short of providing Flavourful Moments as they promise. Distinct flavours you can tell apart, truly an experience for the palate, and one you will be longing for soon after you leave. Service was attentive, friendly and quick. Specials are an absolute delight, with the fresh black truffle risotto they offered that day being truly impressive. Can only say the same for the mains. I have tried good food, but little compares to the concept offered by Seed, where you can somehow pinpoint each individual flavour, all prepared with passion for what they do. I appreciated not mixing several things on a plate, which allowed one to experience each part of the meal individually. See the photos - you'll get it! Manager also came to ask us about our experience with the meal, and wanted an opinion on each aspect overall. That kind of attention to detail leads to what is an incredible eatery. Please keep it up!
Prices are quite good for the standard of the place. Not fussy fine dining, but somewhere that just feels special! That is something anyone...
