Read moreAfter reading all the rave reviews about this restaurant, we thought we'd give it a try. We had made a reservation but when we arrived ten minutes early they just gave us a table. However, the table provided was right next to another couple and the table was just pulled two inches away. So far, it was ok. Our order was taken, with a bit of sass, our wine brought over and clumsily poured. No ice bucket for the white wine so we had to ask for one. About half an hour in, we were given our appetizer of mozzarella and tomato bruschetta, which was quite lack luster. We weren't given any salt, pepper, oil or balsamic so we were left feeling quite disappointed. As the evening went on, the chaos grew. From the kitchen, we could hear the bell being rung incessantly, to the point it was more of a constant feature than an "order ready". The staff, throughout the meal seemed more like a boys club rather than a restaurant team. Our main meal, swordfish steak and a deep fried prawn and squid dish came about 40 minutes later. By this point we had almost finished the bottle of wine and were getting quite impatient. The service for regulars and attractive young women, however, seemed speedy and the staff were tentative to their every need. The facilities in this restaurant left a lot to be desired. No paper towels and no toilet seat/cover and used by the staff as a personal smoking area. To summarise, unless you frequent this establishment often, prepare to wait and be...

If you feel like a winner when you receive free drinks for whatever they do wrong then go there.
We reserved a table and were made to stand outside in the cold for 15 minutes as they did not actually have a free table at the time we asked for.
The restaurant is popular because it's reasonably tasty basic Italian food, most of it for a good price and I would imagine that people are easily bought by the free drinks being passed around left right and centre. I rather have a decently prepared meal without free drinks though.
We received still water instead of sparkling, which they reluctantly replaced. We had to wait about an hour after we ordered and received some free chips for that. My partner asked for a pasta recommendation and was recommended pasta with Ragu sauce because of the amazing meatballs. The Ragu pasta on the menu didn't mention meatballs, and the dish came with 1 meatball. I ordered pasta with mixed seafood. One of the octopus' sharp mouths was not cut out, there was one shrimp and some mussels and clams, but none of the other seafood mentioned on the menu, which I assume they ran out of.
Considering Corona they crammed way too many tables in their tiny place was well.
If you want to go, then go on Monday or Tuesday when they are not busy at all and perhaps you'll have a better experience...
