The Oven — Restaurant in Saint Julian's

I must quote an Italian saying as is appropriate since I am giving my views about a pizza cause a pizza dish is always an Italian dish. And the saying goes L'Apparenza inganna or as the English speaking community would say you cannot judge a book by its cover. The location of this pizzeria always put me off from buying my pizza from The Oven. How mistaken I was and I must add what have I been missing. My son was introduced to this pizzeria by one of his friends who lives around that area and thank God for that. I have lived overseas for many years and I always said that I will miss the restaurants in Munich which in my opinion are the best. Funnily enough I had to find the best pizza I have ever eaten in my life 5 minutes walk from my house located near a petrol station and a repair garage under the bridge of Regional road. Disappointing service from the oven in San gwann. A simple error in the order by them meaning Italian stallion was delivered with no toppings. I was told the driver still had them as they come in a separate container and instead of them contacting the driver, I was then told they were too busy to rectify the order. So I returned the incomplete order to the store where I was informed they could do nothing. They refused to re do the order and also refused to give a refund. All 8 members of staff became verbally aggressive . When I raised my voice in defence as there was only myself and father-in-law dealing with 8 members of staff, I was told to leave the shop . We were lucky to get a refund through time to eat as fortunately their customers service was much more professional...

The variety and menu looked great, but unfortunately I did not have a pleasant experience with The Oven. I don't like leaving negative reviews but the pizza was strikingly bland, and the lasagna we ordered was either reheated a few times in a microwave or is at least 4 days old.

Also, if you are going to send customers a 6 day old slice of cake, then at least peel away the sticker with the production date.

I hope you realize that everything I am describing is not meant to jab or insult, but to bring awareness that these are health hazards.

I think that The Oven has a lovely menu and great prices, but I don't think that it's acceptable to deliver inedible leftovers. One star for timely delivery, but I will not be returning as a customer...
