Entering the restaurant involves getting past the front desk that's outside, then the front desk that's inside (they swipe the lift for access) then you get to the reception desk in the restaurant on the 11th floor. I was already losing the will to enter, after the second desk asked me three times if I had a reservation. I was trying to explain I was a guest of somebody else who did have a reservation.

As a guest I didn't see the charges but I think it was 45 euros per head for a 10 course tasting menu. One of the courses was some kind of thin biscuits with mushrooms on it and another course was a leaf salad with parmesan crisps. Soggy sweet potato fries. Only one dish was served with a serving spoon so we had to ask. The tiny pieces of tandoori chicken on a pile of raita tasted good but it was really amuse bouche size. The bottomless prosecco is good but you have to keep asking for refills. The main course was tacos... Small thin cylindrical tacos coated in mayonnaise and guacamole piped sauce which looks like the local kebab shop but worse. Three per plate and six plates between 12 people. One and a half each; not really enough for a starter.

Final course was dessert. Five desserts between 12 people. I suggested one extra so that there was one between two and they brought three more. Unfortunately They will not needed as I had tasted it by then. The base of the dessert was hard and chewy and the ice cream tasted of rosemary. Not having had much of a main course I was then fancying roast lamb, inspired by the rosemary. Dreadful food. Despite the tiny portions much was left. The hit coffee served in a glass was too hot to hold.

The staff do their very best, I have much praise for them but there clearly hasn't been much training. Nice surroundings, apart from the view of the pool from our table. Management and...

THE MOST ❗️HORRIBLE❗️ EXPIRIENCE IN THE RESTAURANT 2025 We made a reservation a week in advance to celebrate the birthdays of two people in our group While booking, we clearly mentioned the occasion and specifically requested a table with a view (by the window) to make it more special

To make matters worse❗️we brought a BIRTHDAY CAKE(in advance),which we handed to the staff immediately at the reception, clearly with the intention for it to be stored properly. Shockingly, the cake was left out at room temperature for over an hour, right on the reception downstairs No one from the staff took responsibility ❗️❗️❗️

❌ Truly disappointing from start to finish❌ The waiter serving us barely spoke English - and to be honest, most of the staff didn't either Just to remind you, we're in Malta — an English-speaking country‼️ When we pointed this out(to MANAGER)we were simply told, "I'm BRAZILIAN," which only added to our frustration We had to repeat things three times, and even then the waiter clearly didn't understand us properly

Our impression was already ruined from the very beginning! when we were handed back the birthday cake But the worst was yet to come‼️‼️‼️‼️ Have you ever heard of a restaurant that doesn't allow you to bring your own birthday cake? ❗️Well, now we have❗️ At this restaurant, it's not allowed‼️ After some back and forth, they finally brought the cake out - but guess what? We WEREN’T allowed to eat it‼️⁉️‼️ It was honestly the peak of absurdity‼️ We came to what's supposed to be an above-average restaurant to celebrate an important moment in the lives of two people we love - and what we got felt like a SLAP IN THE FACE❗️

The MANAGER , was not able to assist in resolving the issue and instead responded with: "There is someone above me. We are not...

If you're in St. Julian’s, Malta, and searching for a dining experience that excites all your senses, look no further than Toro Toro by Chef Richard Sandoval. Perched on Level 11 of Mercury Tower, this stunning restaurant combines modern elegance with bold Latin American flavors, offering an unforgettable journey for your palate.

The Food Toro Toro’s menu is a celebration of Latin America’s finest. From the vibrant ceviche bursting with citrusy freshness to the perfectly grilled steaks, every dish is crafted with precision and flair. Don’t miss the signature tacos—they’re a delightful fusion of tradition and innovation. The portions are generous, and each plate arrives looking like a work of art, almost too beautiful to eat (but you’ll be glad you did).

The Drinks The bar is a standout feature, serving up some of the best cocktails in town. Their smoky margarita was a personal favorite, and the tequila-based creations are an absolute must-try. Whether you prefer classic or adventurous flavors, the skilled mixologists have something special for everyone.

The Atmosphere Nestled high above St. Julian’s on Level 11, Toro Toro exudes an upscale yet inviting vibe. The stylish decor, warm lighting, and lively music make it perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a date night, a celebration, or just a night out with friends.

The Service The team here truly elevates the experience. They’re attentive, friendly, and eager to share their knowledge of the menu. Their recommendations were spot-on, making the meal even more enjoyable.

Final Verdict Chef Richard Sandoval has created a gem in the heart of St. Julian’s. With incredible food, world-class drinks, and exceptional service, Toro Toro is a must-visit. I’ll definitely return—and you...

More a place for Instagram models than gourmets. To start with the positive: the interior design is cool, urban and tasteful and absolutely unique in Malta giving you a chance to experience Bangkok skyscraper style dining with a view. Generously spaced and with tasteful furniture, kudos to the interior designers. Also the service is very friendly though some of the waiters don't seem to speak much English. The negative was that it was absolutely freezing inside. My company had to wear her coat to not have a freeze. But the real problem is the food. It's very average at best. It looks sophistacted and original but lacks the harmonious interplay of the flavours to create that Foogasm I know from real gourmet spots. Even the coctails were harsh and lacked taste. The meat was of good quality but not cooked with that proper sear and smokey flavour I've come to expect from good steakhouses. And they didn't even have crystal salt that gives a steak that extra kick. The sauces lacked any discernible taste. The food is not worth the rather solid prices. If you want good Latin American fusion kitchen better head for LOM in St. Paul's Bay, for Latin style coctails to La Luz in Sliema and for steaks even Lore & Fitch in St. Julians is better. It's a place to shoot Instagram pictures however as both the food and the interior do look spectacular. But don't expect much beyond the surface.
