Booked here for my daughter's birthday. When we arrived we were taken to our table. I assumed that I had booked us a table for teppenyaki, so I asked the waitress why we weren't at a teppenyaki table. She was very polite and said she would ask the manager. The manager stormed over and was incredibly confrontational and stuck her cell phone in my face with my reservation from their website, where I could see that I had just booked "a table for 5". There was nothing on the website that says you had to book teppenyaki specifically... Anyway from that point onwards the manager was rude and aggressive not just towards us, but her staff as well. Made us feel very uncomfortable. The five of us ordered some food, and what we got was very nice, but nothing outstanding - we ate at Obi nearby a few days earlier, and it was nowhere near as nice. The service from the rest of the staff was very professional and courteous, but overall we left feeling very disappointed. Having also now read other reviews, I could not recommend...
Read moreExcellent staffs, good food. I was there with my husband and 3 years old daughter. When we were at the door, first thing we saw was one of the female staff with big smile. When we walk in and said we've booked the table, my name is Bee one of the staff recognize right away. I ask for ice cream for my daughter and the staff was so keen to get ice cream that good for her (they have sesame, ginger which not for children) Finally my daughter got milk ice cream, thank you. And after 5 minutes, we would like to change the table. So, we were not easy customers. The food and drink came quick, test good and look good. Staffs work hard and always smiling (everyone). This is the best experience I have with the restaurant in Malta. I'm here 2 years already. I like to cook and eat out to check out the food around. I will be back to Zen restaurant again. Thank you everyone who work in...

Overall everything was delicious and so was the service. Mostly fast and very friendly. As it is an asian restaurant, it is nice to see that the chefs and some of the waiters are from that region as well.
The only cons were that the actual Main dishes menu was really expensive (bowl of rice as it stated, 21,50 and fried beef with some veggies 29 euros). I am not sure if it is worth it but sushi is well priced and tastes great. Secondly the room was not very cosy and although I am not a designer, I would add some more...
