Tasty food and good portions, but overpriced buffet option
We had dinner at Asian Market in Bugibba and overall had a decent experience. We opted for individual dishes rather than the all-you-can-eat menu, as the buffet price felt excessive for such a simple and limited selection. Nearly €40 per person (including a €3.50 Mother’s Day surcharge) didn’t feel justified — especially as there were only two tables occupied. Not the most welcoming pricing strategy.
That said, the food itself was fresh and tasty, with very good portion sizes. The sushi was good, maybe not the best ever, but definitely fair value for money.
The gyosas and dumplings were delicious and clearly fresh.
The menu offers a variety of Asian dishes, including Chinese and Japanese options, which is great for mixed tastes.
One thing we didn’t love:
My mum ordered a passion fruit juice that was far too sweet. When we mentioned it, the waitress said, "That’s just how passion fruit is." But coming from Venezuela, we know that’s not quite true: it should be tangy, not syrupy. It felt a bit dismissive.
Overall, a good spot for a casual meal with generous servings, but we recommend sticking to the à la carte menu unless the buffet gets a revamp; or a...
Read moreFirst time at Asian Kingdom. We are seasoned eaters of sushi, sashimi, korean, and different chinese cuisines (from Sichuan, Canton, Fujian, etc.) and so are our kids.
Food wise, we ordered the sushi platter, beef ramen, and poke bowl. The dishes are definitely very palatable and generally went down well. Portions were reasonable, and the flavour was all there.
However, we felt that the dishes could have been refined more. For instance, the poke tempura pieces could have been cut smaller - this would make it easier to eat. Similarly, the sushi rolls could make been made more petite, such that you can eat it in one mouthful comfortably. As it was, it felt like we needed to stuff an overly large piece of sushi, or eat it in pieces (which then tends to fall apart).
Overall, we were happy...
Read moreZero respect for people having severe allergy, even their menu don't mention any allergen. We ordered all you can eat buffet and we explained I've severe allergy to crustaceans(shrimps, crab, prawns, lobster, etc.) so we requested to place the buffet order in separate papers in order to not mixup all the dishes...they told us no, so we asked how we will know which food is mine and which for my friends? No answer whatsoever. It ended up the brought 2 plates, one without shrimps(the food of my friends that they ordered shrimps) and another bigger plate with my food mixed with shrimps dishes. Totally insane and brainless, I cannot end up to hospital for people don't care about severe cases...I refuse to eat, despite the Chef was really kind and apologize a lot but the Asian management don't...
