Chatterbox — Restaurant in Saint Paul's Bay

We went there twice because our first experience wasn’t that good and we wanted to give them another chance. The food was really good but sadly the service was a bit weak. The first time we were there, we asked for a table outside and they said we could sit down. But nobody came to take our order so we went back inside and asked again. Then they gave us a table inside and AGAIN, they forgot us. May I say that the restaurant was half empty. We then had to ask a waiter who was just cleaning tables and talking to other waiters if we could order some water to begin with. He looked at us surprised as if he had forgotten us. We then ordered everything and it took a long time to arrive. The food itself was very good! Really delicious! But the service was not to great (even tho the waiters themselves were friendly).

I wanted to rate it 1-2 stars but then thought I should give it a second chance. We then went some days after and we were the ONLY ones there. And yet again, the waiters were so slow. Like, we had to wait so long! You have two guest and it takes forever to get a waiter. We ordered cocktails and it took them so long to make and bring them. We were very surprised because there were 4 waiters at the bar talking and laughing. I was really sad because the waiters themselves were friendly but not so well trained. The food - yet again- was amazing. They also make great cocktails and I recommend the garlic butter naan.

I wouldn’t go a third time tho because I don’t want to wait forever to even order water and have to try to catch a waiter to order more or ask...

We had very high hopes for this one after we saw the reviews. At first the very sympathetic waiter welcomed us and we thought this might be something special. Unfortunately, he forgot to take our order so we ended up waiting 20 minutes at the beginning. Initially, no problem at all, he’s also just a human, had a lot of stuff to do. After placing our order we had to wait another 35 minutes for our food. Due to the long waiting time our expectation were very relatively high. So to start our cocktails we’re very mediocre, I ordered the Tokyo special, tasted just like orange juice and my girlfriend ordered the cosmo, way too sour. Now to the food, unfortunately it failed to meet our expectations miserably. The lamb I ordered was good, but nothing too crazy, the naan was cold, the rice just normal. My girlfriend’s dish tasted like an Asia box you can buy for 7€ at your local Asia fast food place where you don’t have to wait 1 hour. I have to say firstly that I did some research prior to attending and Chatterbox was the number one Indian restaurant on trip advisor. I am not sure how that has been achieved as the food was average at best and the service we not much better. We are on a Sunday night and the restaurant was busy but not full. We ordered starters and main courses, my wife's starter came out over 5 minutes before mine. When the main courses arrived I was missing my Indian bread which once we had chased it up arrived 5 minutes after the main courses. We had to chase again for the drinks we ordered as we waited 10 minutes for them to arrive. On the whole not a great experience, and certainly one of the poorest Indian restaurants we have been to while on holiday. To put this in context we have probably visited 30 prior to this trip, so I feel I know a good restaurant...
