Cheeky Monkey Gastropub Qawra — Restaurant in Saint Paul's Bay

This was my first time visiting this place and I was very eager as the name "Cheeky Monkey" is a very curious and strange name for a pub/ restaurant. As we entered the establishment, I was immediately impressed with the unique set up of the swings and barrel tables. We were greated by a friendly man and were offered to sit by either the bar or a table. We sat by a big barrel table which had more room that we needed thus giving us more comfort area. As it was during happy hour, we ordered several different cocktails. My only disappointment was that some of the cocktails such as "Bounty" were a little bit too small. Also, i would like to point out that the sour mix used in the majority of the sour cocktails was way too sour. Over all i would rate the cocktails a solid 8/10. We did not eat anything but will definitely return for some burgers or pie as they looked amazing! Money wise: its affordable and the happy hour makes it much more worth it! We had a reservation in this restaurant as guests of AX ODYCY hotel. We were first refused to be seated outside, as they had tables “reserved”. When we showed them our reservation, they found a table, cleaned it and got is seated outside. All this took around 20min. Our reservation had a timeslot 20:15-22:00. Drinks took another 30min, quality is not great to say the least. On the picture you can see non-alcoholic drink suitable for pregnant women, see blue drink on the picture. It was called “green apple”. I’ve never tried anything more chemical in my life 😅. We got starters after 1h, they were ok. 4 small burgers and rolls. It took 2,5h for them to bring mains. Visitors who came 30 min after us got their food served well before us. This is by far the worst restaurant of AX ODYCY. Second time going and what a disappointment!!! First time I went with my family with no booking. The food was okay tho my mom raved about the risotto and I can vouch for that after trying it, iwas amazing and the slider I had were pretty good too. But the rest was pretty dry but overall we enjoyed it. I returned on my own and well! I wasn't given any attention, I get it was a Saturday night and they where busy so I get they arent always on point. No cutlery was given when my food eventually arrived after 30 minutes, no check back and no cheese on my burger I ordered even though it stated it on the menu When I asked for salt for my chips the waiter didn't even acknowledge my request then returned he slammed it down and hurried off.
