Made in Sicilia ristorante pizzeria — Restaurant in Saint Paul's Bay

I choose to have dinner at “Made in Sicilia” and opted for a table outside, as I enjoy having a cigarette after my meal. I’m not sure how many staff members were working that evening, but it took quite a while before I even received the menu. Even another customer had to ask the server a few times if she could come by my table as I had been sitting for quite some time without one.

When I finally got the menu, I looked at the pasta options. They offered several unique dishes, but not many simple, classic choices. The only somewhat standard option was the carbonara (with ham). Unfortunately, the pasta itself tasted quite dry, even with the sauce they put on, so I found myself constantly sipping my drink to help swallow it.

While the staff was friendly, I would give the dish 3 stars as it was edible but not particularly enjoyable. I’d also rate the service 3 stars due to the long wait. We had an incredible dining experience at this Italian gem! From start to finish, everything was perfect. We began with the bruschetta, and I can honestly say it was the best I’ve ever had — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.

For the main course, we shared the seafood platter for two, and it was absolutely delicious. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the portion was more than enough for both of us. You could truly taste the freshness of the ingredients.

To top it all off, we ended our meal with their tiramisu, which was simply divine — light, creamy, and the perfect amount of sweetness. Without a doubt, the best tiramisu we’ve had.

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Their warmth and professionalism truly elevated the entire experience.

Purtroppo noi non ci siamo trovate bene in questo ristorante, che ci era stato consigliato e di cui abbiamo letto le recensioni che però o non sono veritiere o boh.. Abbiamo ordinato: pasta allo scoglio, spaghetti cotti bene unica nota positiva, sapore conformato probabilmente al tipo di clientela frequentante la città, ma non conforme a quello che è il sapore della pasta allo scoglio come dovrebbe essere... con tanto tanto aglio.. Nel piatto c'erano solo Cozze VUOTE, solo gusci vuoti e nella mia porzione c'era forse un mollusco.. dove erano finiti gli altri? Ho avuto anche il pensiero che le avessero finite e abbiano messo dei gusci presi dagli avanzi per riempire il piatto.. ma sicuramente è stato un caso.. sono io che penso male.. Un fritto misto che non saprei nemmeno come definire.. è più o meno quello che puoi trovare alle sagre di paese o in un fast food di dubbia qualità. Gamberoni grigliati... 4, 4 di numero. Che dire piccoli è fargli un complimento. -abbiamo chiesto il pane.. 5 pezzi di impasto per pizza forse (eravamo giusto in 5..).. ma forse il non portare il pane con le portate è una caratteristica dell'isola? Forse lo avevano finito? Boh forse stavamo chiudendo e non avevano più voglia...

Posso capire gli stranieri.. Ma come gli Italiani possano dare una buona opinione a questo ristorante non lo capisco.. Magari sono buone le pizze... Ma sinceramente proverei direttamente un altro posto anche per quelle. Se volete mangiare Italiano scegliete altri ristoranti (nell'isola ci sono, ne ho recensito uno), ma in generale se volete mangiare bene scegliete altro.

Risposta al proprietario: 1-c'è differenza tra il mangiare bene e il nutrirsi perché si ha fame. 2-la porzione dei gamberi grigliati era talmente striminzita che per forza il piatto era vuoto. 3-il fritto è avanzato ed è stata fatto presente anche in loco che dava l'impressione di essere di scarsa qualità. 4-forse gli altri clienti hanno preso altro dal menu che invece buono? Forse sono capitati in un momento in cui il servizio è stato migliore? 5-le persone hanno dei diversi livelli di paragone per giudicare i ristoranti, se gli altri clienti italiani son rimasti soddisfatti mangiando da Voi buon per loro.
