We travel extensively all around the world, and I can say without hesitation that New Delhi in St. Paul’s Bay is one of the very best restaurants we have ever visited. The food is absolutely extraordinary – every single dish is bursting with flavor and prepared to perfection. We first discovered this gem back in 2022, and it impressed us so much that ever since then, every time we return to Malta, dining here has become a must. In fact, we make sure to come at least twice during every stay – it is simply that good.
A huge part of what makes New Delhi special is the owner, Anees. He is an exceptionally warm, confident, and charismatic person who truly defines the character of this restaurant. Anees personally takes orders, oversees the guests, carefully selects ingredients, and makes sure that every dish leaves the kitchen in perfect condition. What makes the experience even more unique is his ability to recommend food tailored to your taste. If you’re unsure what to order, Anees will ask you a few simple questions and then surprise you with something wonderful – often dishes not even listed on the menu. We have trusted him four times with this, and every single time his choices have been outstanding.
Another lovely detail is the hospitality: before you even order, you are served delicious starters as a complimentary treat, and at the end of your meal, Anees always offers drinks on the house. These thoughtful gestures, combined with the exquisite food and warm atmosphere, make the experience unforgettable.
We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Put yourself in Anees’s hands and simply enjoy – you will not be...
Read moreLet me tell you, I just stumbled upon the most incredible Indian restaurant in Malta, and it completely blew my mind! New Delhi isn't just about food, it's a full-on flavor adventure.
The minute we walked in, the place had this amazing vibe. Think warm lights, the most incredible smell of spices filling the air, and the staff greeting us with these huge smiles. It felt like we'd been whisked away to India itself (seriously, there were these beautiful tapestries hanging on the walls that made it feel super authentic).
The menu? Forget about it! Indian food heaven. every single bite was like a party in my mouth. The food was unreal – the meat was so tender it practically fell apart, and the sauce… oh man, the sauce! It was like a symphony of spices, but not too hot, you know? Just perfect.
And let me tell you about the staff!, was an absolute legend. They knew EVERYTHING about the menu and helped us pick dishes based on how much spice we could handle. Plus, they were just so friendly and funny, it felt like we were chatting with an old friend.
By the end of the night, we were stuffed and happy as clams. Seriously, New Delhi is the real deal. If you're in Malta and have a craving for some amazing Indian food, look no further! This place is a must-try.
Insider tip: Ask about the spice level before you order. The staff are super helpful and can adjust things to your taste...

Let’s start with the Lamb Bhuna. The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender, cooked to perfection, and the sauce? Rich, thick, and packed with deep, warming spices. Every bite felt like a hug from someone who really knows their way around a spice rack.
Bro the Chicken Tikka, juicy, perfectly charred, and full of smoky, tandoori flavour. You could taste the care in the marinade, and it had just the right balance of spice and tang. Honestly, it’s the kind of dish that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate it.
But the real surprise was the Spicy Butter Chicken. It was creamy and comforting, with a bold kick that sneaks up on you in the best way. Think classic butter chicken, but with a fire in its belly, smooth and rich, but not shy about the heat.
Service was spot-on, portions were generous, and the whole experience just left me wanting more. If you love curry, this place should be top of your list. No fuss, no gimmicks, just seriously good food. Don't bother going to India, this...
