Located 50 meters away from bugibba square, this Indian restaurant offers a very unique Indian cuisine. We were told to visit this place by some Indian people who reside in Malta as they feel it is the best on the island. Restaurant is very clean, set up nicely and staff are very knowledgeable about the menu and their job in particular. We visit this restaurant on a Sunday evening and were very to be given a table as they were very busy with customers and reservations. For starters we opted for some beef samosas and a garlic naan bread, along 3 side sauces. For a main course we chose a beef madras and a beef rogan josh and a mushroom pilau rice on a side. Food was served in excellent preparation and mouthwatering taste. Overall prices are reasonable and fair if compared to what they offer. One small suggestion to the restaurant, we noticed that the bathroom is located at level -1 and one could only access it by stairs, therefore being inaccessible for wheelchair users unless a stairlift is installed or a small space is allocated for a ground floor bathroom. Nothing more to add and very recommended to others who love...
Read moreAfter couple of days of trying different cuisines during my holiday in Malta I was craving for some Indian food. I tried two other restaurants before this one and I have to say they were worst than the Bangladeshi restaurants that pretend to be Indian here in the UK! Then I came across this restaurant and immediately upon reading the menu I knew that the food here could be authentic. To my surprise this was the best authentic Indian food I had in Malta. This is a hidden gem of India offering authentic flavours and taste of South Indian food in Malta! Every dish has its unique flavours and even a simple dish such as Jeera rice is jam packed with flavours. The service is excellent and the Chef himself comes to the table to get feedback. I loved the restaurant so much so that I visited it again for dinner and wished they did lunch so I could takeaway food for my journey back to the UK. This will be the restaurant I will surely visit in future if I visit Malta again. Thanks New Madras and Chef Muthu for the ultimate food experience I was craving for...
Read moreVisited this place couple of times. Taste was good and the first time experience was also fine, although quantity looked less as compared to other restaurants. However the second time we visited, I took a sip of water from my son's bottle and manager came and said I should not do that as outside drinks are not allowed. I said ok. After 5 minutes my mother came back from washroom and took a sip of water. The manager came back and said that he will charge for water in my bill. Now that was offending to me as well as stupid. No where they have mentioned in restaurant that you can't drink water from your own bottle. Even if that is such a big issue, they should clearly mention it on the menu as well as on walls. I have seen at so many restaurants that they call write it at different places to keep people aware. These people expect me to remember what they said and also be their messenger and tell everyone on table. Surely not going back to this place, even if they offer food for free. For me experience is everything and they...
