If you’re ever in Malta and love sushi 🍣, you have to visit UMI Sushi Restaurant in St Paul’s Bay – it’s an absolute hidden gem! ✨

We stumbled across it while looking for somewhere to have lunch, and I’m sooo glad we did. From start to finish the whole experience was incredible – the food, the service, the presentation – everything was spot on. 🙌

We ordered a mix of dishes: vegetable spring rolls, spicy salmon rolls, duck rolls, miso soup, and UMI fried rice. Every single plate was beautifully presented, so colourful and packed full of flavour 😍. The sushi was super fresh and chilled to perfection, while the spring rolls and rice arrived piping hot – the contrast made it even more delicious.

The best part? The prices were so reasonable! For all that amazing food (not including drinks) the bill came to just €49 – unbelievable value for the quality. 💶👌

I even asked if it was part of a chain, because I’d love to find one closer to home, but sadly it’s just this one restaurant. Honestly though, I’d come back to Malta just for this sushi – that’s how good it was! I’m already planning to squeeze in another visit before we head home on Tuesday. 🤩

We recently had the pleasure of dining at this amazing UMI sushi restaurant and I must say, it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right, being welcomed by the best Owner and great staff members.

The sushi selection was absolutely incredible. Each roll was beautifully presented and bursting with fresh, flavorful ingredients. I especially loved the variety of options available, from traditional favorites like California rolls to more adventurous choices like spicy tuna and dragon rolls.

But what really set this restaurant apart was their happy hour cocktail offer: 12 -6 pm Not only were the drinks expertly crafted and delicious, but they were also incredibly affordable. Umi special cockt is my recommendation ❤️

Overall, I had a fantastic dining experience at this sushi restaurant. The food was top-notch, the service was impeccable, and the happy hour cocktail offer was the cherry on top.

A perfect and relaxed evening - couldn't have been better! The service was super friendly and attentive, but never intrusive - a great balance. After our request for a glass of wine, we were even handed the open wine to try. An extra plus point for this.

The food: we had selected sushi and bao bans as appetizers. Not being familiar with the numerous sushi variations, these were explained to me in detail by both the friendly sushi master inside and the service at the table. My choice fell on Tuna and Calamari. Both were visibly and tastily fresh. Very tasty and great presented. The eye eats with you! The Bao Bans were the best my wife (and she is a Bao Band fan) has ever eaten. Premium!

The main courses were then the crowning glory of an unforgettable culinary evening. "Plum duck glazed": the finest duck without any fat, fresh vegetables with a lovely plum sauce and fine plum slices. Everything perfectly matched: Size of the pieces, consistency, texture ... a fresh delight!

Unfortunately, there was no more room (in the belly) for dessert.

By the way: totally mixed crowd and both stuff and guests without airs. Nice, friendly and down to earth.
