Shortly, we recently visited Vecchia Napoli in Qawra, and while the food was decent, the service was very poor. I would not recommend visiting this restaurant. Detailed experience is written below.
Upon arrival, we were seated promptly, which was a good start. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there.
After sitting for about 40 minutes without being approached, we had to ask the waitress if we could place our order. She seemed visibly irritated by the request, and although she proceeded to take our drink order, her demeanor was far from welcoming. She aggressively cleaned a nearby table, smashing chairs around in a way that made it clear she was upset.
Once our drinks arrived, it took another 5 minutes before the waitress returned to ask about food. We ordered three pizzas, which took around 15 minutes to arrive—a standard wait time. The pizza itself was fine, though it wasn’t the authentic Neapolitan style the restaurant's name might suggest. It was nothing extraordinary, but acceptable.
The final frustration came when it was time to settle the bill. After finishing our meal, we waited another 20 minutes for the check, eventually having to go inside to pay. When we asked to split the bill, the waitress said it was “no problem,” only to give us the full bill and tell us to figure out how much each person owed on our own.
Overall, while the food was alright, the poor service overshadowed the experience. The waitress’s attitude and the lack of attention made it difficult to enjoy our time there. There are definitely better options in the area if you're looking for both good food and...
Read moreFood was somewhat tasty, but the surface of my pizza was looking like a swimming pool, so much water was dripping out of it. They didnt cut our pizza and i had to cut my fiance pizza myself (because shes missing one arm), and we saw that they did cut the pizzas on the opposite table, but that wasn't that big of a deal, it happens i guess. I asked for a pint of Cisk and a sprite for my fiance. Just regular sprite, but got a pint of both sprite and cisk (which cost more) but thats just could have been a language issue.
The thing that pissed me the most was the waiting time for the bill. We've got our bill, I've put the money in, and then I've waited 30 minutes for someone to take our money and give us our change. Well that didn't happened. The staff was passing by our table multiple Times, they were looking at us, at our money, but nobody came to take it. The tables that got there after us, left before us, without any issues. Got pissed, left them the smallest change I've had because that was all i could do instead of a 50 euros bill for a 27 euros meal. I dont know, maybe they wanted me to give up and left a 23 euro tip, who knows, got confused because that was the first time when the staff was ignoring us that much. In the end, the meal costed us 2 hours of our time, and that wasnt the "busy hours". Wouldnt reccomend,...
Read moreI had the pleasure of being with a big group of 29 adolescents from Naxxar Church, together with two leaders, for a pizza-making activity at Vecchia Napoli Qawra this morning, and I can't recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcomed, patient, and cared for. The man who guided us through the pizza-making process was absolutely brilliant—his energy, expertise, and warmth made the experience so enjoyable and memorable. The entire team at Vecchia Napoli Qawra was attentive and supportive throughout the entire activity, offering guidance at every step. As a wonderful touch, each participant was given a certificate for successfully completing the pizza-making session.
But beyond the fantastic experience, I have to mention the pizza itself—uniquely delicious, as always. The service, combined with the delicious food and unforgettable hospitality, makes Vecchia Napoli a place I would absolutely return to again. Their welcoming atmosphere, combined with excellent service and a genuine smile, makes it a standout destination. Thank you, Vecchia Napoli Qawra, for a truly wonderful experience! Thank you Victor, Eleonora and all the team for being very professional
