Woodhut Pub & Diner — Restaurant in Saint Paul's Bay

My wife and I went here for lunch and we were thoroughly pleased with our entire experience having lunch at the Woodhut Pub and Diner.

Ray (the owner), was very warm and welcoming. He exhibited excellent customer service. The food is amazing! Everything is freshly made and tastes fresh down to the burger buns. There are vegan options as well. Ray was very flexible with the menu options by letting us add whatever we liked that he served to our salads. The food is reasonably priced and the wait time is quite short.

The pub itself is full of character, well staged and one can tell that careful thought went into its design as it is very unique and beautiful. It is very clean, even the bathrooms which are usually the ones to be neglected in restaurants. From speaking with Ray, he told us that he changes the artwork and posters once a year to refresh the atmosphere and we would definitely come back again sometime on holiday not only for the food, definitely the food, but also to see the new layout and design. There was pleasant music playing in the background as well.

We highly recommend visiting Woodhut Pub and Diner. Bring your camera, an empty stomach and good vibes! You won’t be disappointed.

It was one of the most pleasurable surprises of our stay so far. This place is a true hidden gem! The owner, Ray, is a laid-back, nice guy, cooking all the dishes himself, and chatting up the guests to see if they are satisfied, and oh boy, the food is just delicious. There are no 2 ways about it, it is just perfect. So if you are ever around this region, pay him & his family (as it is a family run business) a visit. The atmosphere is very unique & charming and there is live sports going on in the background, so it could also be an option to watch a game while eating. We were served by the nephew of the owner, who was a real gentleman, and has a very good taste in football (you can ask him the details yourself :D). Really hope they will keep on thriving, so next time, I am in Malta, I can revisit them.

I found this place on trip advisor with great recommendations for Maltese food and they weren’t wrong. The owner (i guess) is caring, passionate and very welcoming. Can’t leave a comment about the typical foods served in Malta (pasta, pizza, burger) , because i prefer to enjoy the local, but definitely if you are looking for some great local dishes or fresh, amazingly prepared seafood this is the place. We had the rabbit and seafood platter, I grew up eating rabbit and this one was the best I have eaten, especially the sauce which was made to perfection. Seafood was fresh and well seasoned especially the octopus, which was exceptional, not chewy and melted in the mouth. We also had the house wine, Caravaggio, which was delicious. What i loved most was the passion in the chefs words when describing the dishes and explanation of how he made them. 100000/10 definitely will visit again when...
