Il-Kċina — Restaurant in Siġġiewi

I had the opportunity to have dinner at Il-Kċina with a friend the day before leaving Malta, and I have to say this restaurant is absolutely beautiful. It is a perfect place to dine, with delicious food and a stunning atmosphere. I ordered the Thai beef salad, which was simply gorgeous, but what impressed me the most was the bread they served at the start. It came with two different kinds of butter, and honestly, it was probably the best bread I’ve had in Malta. The service was excellent as well. One of the staff members, Seema (if I remember her name correctly), was such a sweetheart—warm, kind, and attentive. She truly made the evening even more enjoyable. Unfortunately, I was driving that night, so I didn’t get to try their wine or cocktails, but I’ve already saved this restaurant for my next visit. I noticed they serve martinis, which I’ll definitely try next time. The whole courtyard is stunningly beautiful, especially in the evening, which makes the setting perfect for a romantic date or even a family dinner. An outstanding dining experience at il-Kċina! From start to finish, everything was flawless — the food was rich in flavor, beautifully plated, and clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between cozy and refined, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions.

What truly made our visit exceptional was the service — especially from the manager, Kirti. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine passion for hospitality were evident in every interaction. She personally checked in with guests, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made sure everyone felt welcome and looked after. Kirti has a rare ability to make you feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. It’s clear she leads by example, and the entire team reflects her high standards.

It’s rare to see this level of care and consistency — Kirti is a true asset to il-Kċina and a big reason we’ll be returning soon.

The reason for 3 star service.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly, however it took quite a number of times to remind them what we ordered at the end.

The items arrived (both missing something), It was becoming late and had to leave so we didn't bother to ask for it and wait again. They were understandably busy. The bill was paid. Upon leaving, they asked us to pay for 2 items that arrived late. We showed them the bill that it was already paid! They apologized and we left.

Note: We are encountering many instances also in other places mainly with non native English speaking staff to understand basic communication. This is ruining the overall customer experience and restaurant reputation despite that the food experience is great. This happened also in 5 star hotels! Hoping for better overall standards across...
