After my stay at The Oberoi Mauritius, I can truly say it is one of my favourite hotels in the world. This is due to a few things: 1. Outstanding customer service. The service here is a true depiction of "guest is God". You won't pass an employee without them bowing to you. They try to remember details like your room number, name and flight details, and they don't seem to ever tell guests "no". Though breakfast finishes at 10:30am, I've seen guests walk in later and still got to order off the menu. There are closing times for the gym and spa but once you ask they arrange for you to use the facilities outside the hours. 2. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and designed. I loved my individual bungalow with a private sun deck. The grounds are well maintained and adorned with trees and flowers which attract an array of birds. The whole concept of the hotel seems to be bringing nature indoors, with a private garden adjoining the bathroom for lots of natural light and big windows in the bedroom (the shades are also fully black-out so no need to worry about the sun waking you!). Natural materials are utilised everywhere and some of the public toilets have partial outdoor spaces. Though the hotel was pretty busy while we were there, there were so many different areas to relax that it did not feel crowded. There are lots of little spots to sit and be in nature as well. The architecture of the main pool is a work of art by itself. Many of the seating areas are designed with amazing views of the beach. 3. Their focus on convenience and the little details. There were so many touches that made my stay special - every time you sit at a sunbed, you are greeted a few minutes later with cold towels and iced water. As a water lover myself, I did not even need my travel bottle, as the rooms are always stocked with daily bedside water and there are water dispensers throughout the property. The beach bag and umbrellas for use during my stay were much appreciated! We celebrated an anniversary and they arranged a rose petal bath for our first night. They also add to the room a taste of local Mauritian snacks, lots of coffee and tea options and some fruit. The handwritten cards on check in and check out are very thoughtful! They seemed to always know when we left the room as that was when they would clean or do turn down service. 4. The free activities and events. Every day they have an array of activities organized including yoga, Tai chi and nature walks. Then they also have a special event each day such as a cooking class, stargazing or rum tasting. The quality of the event was top notch too! They also have lots of free water sports included, which is usually at an extra charge at these type of resorts. But because the grounds and seaside were so beautiful, I found myself hardly partaking in any of it for my five day stay! So definitely you can spend two weeks here and not get bored, particularly if you plan to tour around the country which has lots to offer. Overall, exceptional service from a world class hotel. Special mention to Yuvraj and Vedank who went out of their way to give great service at the bars, and Samanta from the spa. There are so many more names that stood out but unfortunately I don't remember them! A truly special hotel that deserves a stay at least once in your life.

The Oberoi Mauritius is a top notch and nearly faultless hotel. From arrival to departure, the friendliness and level of service from hotel staff were next level. The rooms were large, modern and clean. The hotel staff go above and beyond to make your stay personalised, remembering preferences about how you have your breakfast, and how youu organise your room. Many activités are offered complementary and advertised, and with Port Louis and Grand-Baie so close, you would find yourself hard pressed to run out of things to do. My prior stay in Mauritius was at The One & Only Le Saint Géran, so I wasn’t particularly looking out for the beach, which is fairly small and nothing special for the island, however it was pleasant and an excellent and quiet place from which to view the sunset. The food in the restaurant was unparalleled - excellent and high quality every night without fail. The chefs took extra care in the presentation of their food, and made the whole experience all around great. Off-menu requests are honoured and done excellently, nothing feels like too much trouble for the restaurant staff. A small number of tame animals roam the grounds, including the restaurant, and make up much of the ambience. Cats (who are very happy to accept a pet!) may come and sit by you while you eat your breakfast and dinner. On our first night we were very lucky to meet Shaan, who worked in the restaurant. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, making us feel very welcome and providing us with plenty of information about the hotel and surrounding area. He made time to speak to us every day and talked to us about the Mauritian way of life, as well as recommended us dishes to try (all of which were spot on!) At night time, the lack of light pollution makes the stars in the night sky clearly visible. I had the pleasure of visiting in winter, which meant I could see and photograph the Milky Way myself, which was absolutely incredible. Towards the end of my stay I was unfortunate enough to break my foot whilst out in Port Louis, and was worried that my lowered mobility would make it difficult for me to enjoy my stay at the hotel. This was not the case at all. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay as easy as possible, providing transportation to various parts of the grounds via golf cart and assisting me in standing up and sitting down. The hotel doctor was quick, professional and very knowledgeable, I was taken to a nearby clinique on her recommandation, from which I was released after being given a diagnosis and treatment within just a few hours. On my final day, I was given a get well soon card and some chocolates, which was a very pleasant surprise and made me feel very looked after. Huge thanks to the housekeeping manager for everything. Overall, I could not have asked for a better experience at this hotel, and I can thoroughly recommend the Oberoi to anyone looking for an excellent hotel in an authentic part of the island.

The Oberoi offers a profound sense of calm and serenity from the moment you arrive. The ambience is breathtaking, with stunning views at every turn. It is definitely a total contrast to busier, family oriented hotels and is perfect for couples and those seeking relaxation. The resort occupies a unique position among French colonial ruins. The views are fantastic and the construction is very sympathetic to the landscape with a certain timeless opulence. Really has to be experienced as photos do not do the hotel justice. We especially loved the adults only pool area with small private beach, a very relaxing spot. Our room was superb—spacious with high ceilings, powerful AC and a generous terrace with both chairs and sun loungers. Thoughtful details are everywhere, right down to the provided insect repellent, milk for hot drinks etc. The incredible staff are the heart of this hotel. They have really taken care of us during our stay. A huge thank you to Antish, our room supervisor who truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The general manager greeted us upon arrival and was visible around the resort, ensuring customers were happy. The food offering was overall great, especially the à la carte breakfast. The main restaurant was our favourite restaurant and it offers a wide range of dishes. The seafood and meat Thali is especially delicious, offering an authentic taste of Indian cuisine. The room service or ‘Private dining’ as they refer to it was also excellent on both occasions we used it. Delivery and presentation of the food to the room was excellent, really providing a special experience above normal room service. Portions are generous, with bread provided and the staff prepare the table with places set for you. The Bar next to the main restaurant offered well crafted cocktails which were not overly sweet as found in other resorts. The live guitar music performed at the bar created a perfect ambience and made our final night here one to remember. We also made use of the on site gym, which has a good range of equipment. Water and towels are offered and the temperature is perfect for a workout. Finally, we took an excursion to the botanic gardens and used the taxi company that work with the hotel near reception. We found the price to be fair and the driver was very friendly and gave us some interesting insight into the local landmarks, waited for us during our visit and drove us back to the hotel. In conclusion, this resort offers a really unique sense of tranquility and relaxation with luxury and attention to detail throughout. We definitely hope to return soon!

From the moment we landed on this island paradise in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius had us hooked — line, sinker, and coconut drinker!|“Sea, Spa & Serenity — Our Dream 14 Nights at The Oberoi Mauritius from 18th September to 2nd October 2025, and everything, from airport pickup to farewell hugs, was exceptional, every moment was pure magic. Our adventure began with Raj, our chauffeur and unofficial island historian. With 25 years of experience and a heart full of stories, he turned every journey into a rolling history lesson — part encyclopaedia, part explorer! From airport pickup to day trips around the island, Raj made sure we had the best of Mauritius on (and off) the beaten path.|On arrival, we were welcomed by Natacha at reception and guided to our villa by Janvi, who kindly gave us a mini-tour so we wouldn’t get shore-ly lost. Our pool villa — complete with ocean views and a tempting array of welcome treats — instantly transported us into “relaxation mode.” By 10:30am we were unpacked, unwound, and unofficially adopted by paradise.|Dining at The Oberoi was another highlight. Huge thanks to all the amazing catering team for their impeccable service and warmth. Vasudha, the wonderful lady who looked after us at On the Rocks, made every meal feel like a family gathering by the sea. Aina, Oomar and Meenaksh always welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them – their smiles will stay with us forever! Prakash and Shan deserve extra applause for their morning ritual of bringing us a special fresh coconut drink, with their secret ingredient — the perfect tropical wake-up call! O rum was it good!! Their willingness to make sure we had plenty special dishes to eat was outstanding! Also too our sommelier Rhubesh, took so much pride in his explanations and knowledge.|The chefs deserve standing ovations for their artistry, serving dishes that were both island-inspired and heart-warming. Our final evening featured a surprise Mauritian off-menu creation — a truly special send-off that left us speechless (and spoon-less). Thank you to both our young talented Indian Chef and the Great Mauritian Chef. Not forgetting our masterclass in Fish Curry by Sunita who cooked with so much love and passion that shone thru in her food!|A big shoutout to Preety and her spa team, who massaged away every trace of tension and made Camelia feel like royalty. Between the serenity of the spa and the sound of the sea, relaxation was mandatory!|Every member of the Oberoi family added their sparkle — from Isaac and Geshav the friendly poolside staff to the ever-smiling gardeners, bartenders, and housekeeping team. Corinne at the Oberoi Shop also deserves a special mention for her cheerful greetings and helpful nature (wish we could have brought her back home with us to help Camelia with her Jewellery!) — a true gem of hospitality.|The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius isn’t just a resort; it’s a feeling — a blend of adventure, tranquillity, and home-from-home warmth wrapped up in luxury. Every detail whispered, “you’re special,” and by the time we left, we truly believed it.|A heartfelt thank-you to the management team, Prashant and all in our farewell pictures next to the brand new BMW that arrived in time to take us back to the airport for making our stay extraordinary — and to the entire Oberoi team for reminding us that paradise is not just a place, it’s the people who make it shine.|Until next time — stay “sea-ductive,” Oberoi!|Warmest love and...

We spent 2 weeks at the Oberoi in September and had the most wonderful time!|When we arrived we were handed a welcome drink and our bags disappeared while we were given a brief orientation of the resort... Check in was then done in our room, where our bags were waiting for us - all very smooth . The Oberoi reservations team had contacted in advance so the correct size slippers and robes were already in our room, the pillows we had asked for were on the bed, and our Spa treatments and dinner reservations had been made!|The rooms are actually not rooms at all, they are beautifully appointed pavilions / villas, single story, with vaulted ceilings, sunken baths, walk in wardrobes and sun loungers on the terrace... and the housekeeping team are fantastic - water in the room twice a day, fabulous turn down every evening, luxurious toiletries - perfect!|The restaurants are amazing - we ate at the main restaurant, the Gunpowder Room, and On the Rocks. The food was incredible in all of them, accompanied by a great wine list and fabulous views. Our favourite was On the Rocks, great seafood cooked on an open grill, a couple of meters from the sea!|One night we had an off menu Indian meal in the main restaurant, organised for us by the wonderful Ankush (he also invented a cocktail for my wife!).|The Gunpowder Room is a lovely setting, with a set menu and very attentive service... it has a fine dining feel, but the communal seating stops it being stuffy at the same time as giving the opportunity to meet other hotel guests. It's a fabulous night!|The bar is a great place for a sundowner and manages to pull of being very relaxed at the same time as sophisticated and indulgent - maybe the amazing views help.|The Spa is also fabulous - we had the Oberoi Signature Massage in a couples room which had open walls, and during the massage we could hear the waves breaking on the shore, and the birds singing as the sun went down, which was magical. My wife also had other treatments in the Spa and said all were equally fabulous.|We also took advantage of some of the water sports, including Stand up Paddle boarding and daily snorkelling trips. All were fantastic and the team at the boathouse are brilliant. |However... as wonderful as the rooms, food, Spa, sunsets, views and water sports are (and they are!) they are not a patch on the wonderful staff. They are amazing - nothing is too much trouble... at the pool / beach they bring iced water, cool scented flannels, fruit platters, and ice creams in the afternoon... thank you Isaac and Sidarth, it was a pleasure to meet you both.|Prakash, Aum and Ankush ensured all our meals were exceptional, and the private dinner that was arranged on the beach for my wife's birthday was truly magical.|The leadership at the Oberoi is very visible and the welcoming hospitality clearly starts from the top! We met the wonderful Natacha early on in our stay and it was a joy to watch her lead the team in such a low key, light hearted and friendly way. We also met the General Manager, Aditya, who was always around and available if guests needed him.|The Oberoi is a very special place, it manages to be opulent and luxurious, with the best of everything, at the same time as super relaxed and informal. Quite a feat to pull off, but once you meet the staff it all becomes clear!|If you are thinking about visiting, do not hesitate.|Thank you to all the Oberoi team for an amazing holiday, we look forward to seeing you...
