Absolutely, yes! Being Mexican-American, I have a deep love for authentic Mexican cuisine, but being married to someone of Caucasian descent, I rarely get to enjoy it outside of visits to my mom's house.
During our two-week stay in Cabo, I was craving a taste of home, particularly for breakfast, and I am beyond thrilled to have stumbled upon this gem! While I had dined here for dinner back in 2019, it had been so long that I couldn't quite recall the experience, but I'm ecstatic to have rediscovered it because the food was absolutely delightful!
We arrived during a busy weekend and had just missed the breakfast window by a mere 5-10 minutes. Despite this, the staff graciously accommodated us, a gesture for which I am immensely grateful, as I had convinced my partner and his family to join us for a breakfast feast. Let me tell you, the chilaquiles were nothing short of perfection—my mouth waters at the memory and as I glance at the photos. Each bite transported me back to my childhood, reminiscent of the home-cooked meals my mom used to prepare.
While the setting may not be as fancy as some other establishments in Cabo, nestled more inland, it exudes a charming rustic vibe reminiscent of a cozy Mexican shack. The atmosphere was lively, with pleasant music playing in the background, and it was evident that everyone around us was thoroughly enjoying their meals. I couldn't resist peeking at other breakfast' plates and asking our server about their dishes so we could order something similar—a decision we certainly...
Read moreVery authentic, for Cabo very affordable, our waiter Gonzalo was exceptionally attentive to every need even though they were reasonably busy. He warned us that the little green salsa was very hot and he was not kidding (it was good though!). When we ran out of tortillas Gonzalo was already bringing us more before I had a chance to ask! Drink of the day was a mojito for 80 pesos and if you know anywhere in the states with a cocktail for 4.55 usd hit me up! It was somebody else's birthday and although these celebrations are usually tedious and onerous for the staff they have a fun way of bringing everyone in on it and seemed to genuinely enjoy the process. I won't ruin it for you by explaining though, lol. We have been to Cabo several times and plan to come back many more, we will absolutely come back to Campestre. My only minor complaint is that the signage could be a little more clear, google maps had the location 100% accurate but we couldn't be sure it was the right restaurant until we asked. It was dark though, maybe we missed the sign :D
Oh, and I can't forget, their flan, made on site, is incredible! A bit more rich than I usually expect from flan, I suspect a bit of cream cheese or something similar in the recipe, but damned good flan! Between the 4 of us, with a shared appetizer, four entrees, 4 cocktails and 3 desserts we spent about 85 usd and couldn't be happier.
About half the clientele were locals, so you should know it's good food for a good price. (photos on another phone,...
Read moreWe started our meal with the complimentary nacho chips and its dips. The tortilla soup was nice and thick with the nice cheese. It was really great! Our server Areli was awesome and recommended the camparina combination. This camparina combination is like a tour of Mexico on a plate. The steak is nice soft and flavorful!!! I highly recommend it. We also had potato chorizo sopes. It was great too. Just couldnt finish it coz we were so full. I had the mango margarita and it was a big glas with a cute orange garnish. Definitely a must visit for this place for an authentic mexican dish!!! The next day we came back for lunch! This place is pack! Thank God we were the 3rd couple and the wait outside was just short. They move so fast. The free nachos was good while waiting for our campestre and fajitas for lunch. I got a regular margarita with the tajin on the glass rim,...
