A perfect example of why hotel restaurants should generally be avoided, at best, a parody of an Italian restaurant. Tired of the overcooked seafood and over-seasoned caviche of Baja, we opted for Italian at the hotel restaurant Casa Mia. Most certainly, the most incompetent service ever, waitress got pretty much every order wrong. We ordered their imported Spanish wine, a raw and sugary grape juice, an insult to the palate. The limp pasta Bolognese was mainly ketchup, a surgery morass remeniscent of the Filipino version made from banana ketchup. Our three pizzas came 20 minutes apart, almost no tomato base (perhaps a blessing), thin crust, yet with a nearly raw and sought center. Some tadtlesschewy cheese that coagulated as it cooled, utterly bland and tasteless. And adding insult to injury, the costly (even by USA standards) rib eye steaks, arrived well done (ordered medium rare), full of gristle, pre-sliced like your mother might do before you learned how to use a steak knife, and stone cold. Christian was our waiter, so friendly, broken English to match my broken Spanish. Everyone speaks coffee though. The following is just my opinion. Your experience may differ. Food: Coffee excellent, eggs with ham; tasty. Hash brown, ok, refried beans don’t taste fresh. Fruit or orange juice; I chose fruit. Normally I detest papaya but wow this was good!
