Ruta Food Truck — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

If you want a change-up from the standard taco and Mexican faire while in Cabos, but not something trying to just impersonate a different culture, come here. They've made their burgers their own. Local burgers with homemade buns. Never tried burger buns like this before. It's very light and fluffy - like a torta almost and it makes the burger taste like an authentic Mexican version of a burger, a burger in it's own right, not one trying to impersonate an American burger.

The vibe of the place is great too. A food truck and smoker set up in the parking lot of a plaza (so plenty of parking spots), though they have a kitchen in the plaza as well. The seating area is attached to the kitchen in a covered patio with strung lights. Vibes are nice and there are boardgames and cards to play as well.

Owner was very friendly, gave me a free delicious and refreshing drink (some sort of lemonade?). Recommended the Mexicana burger which was awesome (it had fried poblano rings instead of onion rings). Didn't try the desserts but they looked phenomenal as well. Glad I found this hidden gem away from all the typical touristy spots.
