Spectacular. We had the pleasure of experiencing 4 of their home wines. Stunning and complex flavor profiles that pair excellently with their menu. The menu was an exceptional display of talent craftsmanship, and thoughtfulness. From a variety of seafood to duck and chicken to beef. My wife and I enjoyed the charcuterie board with our wine tasting as well as the shrimp bisque and duck bao. So many captivating flavors and truly inspiring display. The pouring of the bisque into the shrimp cake was gorgeous! We ended with the black forest mousse cake which was in fact a garden of 4 different ways to make chocolate paired with raspberry and cherry and decorated with fresh flowers. Again, I come back to the thoughtfulness of presentation.
The grounds themselves are lovely and well cared for. Beautiful lights, indoor and outdoor spaces with art and interesting architecture against their vineyard and plants. Staying at ojo azul may be on our future agenda, as I can only imagine how serene it would be to wake up to such a beautiful place in the morning. I cannot say enough good things about the place. Cant wait to go...
Read moreSpectacular Valle de Guadalupe location. A bit off the main road and well worth the journey. This five year old venue has a obvious Turkish influence from its owner. The resort and hotel look amazing and thatâs for another visit. The service was friendly and easy going. The food was amazing regardless of if vegan or omnivore. The presentation of the food is spectacular and the taste beyond amazing for the price. Highly recommend the vegetable aguachile and the roasted cauliflower -beautiful and delicious in every way. Dessert looked amazing but no vegan options. Highly recommend
14/06/25 revisited: service, food and live entertainment stand the test of time- all excellent. Wish they had pizza on the menu. Mediterranean share platter was a great choice and a great amount of tasty choices. The grilled lettuces with fried shrimp was super delicious and beautiful. Socil, our server was very helpful, professional and responsive. She spoke excellent English and Spanish. The live band was so much fun- everyone...
Read moreOur party of 4 enjoyed a fresh summer evening dinning at Almatierra. The hostess offered us to sit inside or if we were okay with the live music, to sit outside. This was a Friday night, so we opted to sit outside and we definitely enjoyed the music. A combo of Spanish and English hits. Our waiter Eduardo recommended some appetizers and we got the duck tostadas, the green shrimp aguachile and the red scallop aguachile. All of them were sooo good. The scallop was my favorite. I'm sure the dinner options change seasonally, but we definitely enjoyed our dishes which included the duck with mole, the ribeye steak, the pork chop and a vegetable salad. All were great. We had a few beers, some micheladas and one of the Ojo Azul bottles of a Malbec blend. It was a great choice. We ended the evening sharing the chocolate mousse desser that looks like a wooden log. I highly recommend this restaurant. The live music provided for a fun atmosphere. We will definitely be...
