Cenaduría Selecta has easily become my absolute favorite spot here after some time. I can't stress enough how consistent their food is, and the waitstaff is always friendly and attentive. Oh, and did I mention they have this adorable swing outside the restaurant? Perfect for capturing some cute photos. Plus, they've got shaded parking, so you can enjoy your meal without worrying about your car melting the blazing sun, where some days can get to 100F+ outside 🥵.
Let's talk about the interior—it's seriously impressive. The decor at Cenaduría Selecta is stunning. Every corner of the restaurant is beautiful, when you walk in you’re greeted with a large mirror that has beautiful artwork on it near the host and they decorate l down to the bathroom sink area. It's clear they put a lot of thought into creating an inviting atmosphere.
Now, let's get to the real star of the show—the food. I had the privilege of ordering the Mole Enchiladas, at first bite the flavors are mind-blowing, and the presentation is on point. I can't stop thinking about them even to this day, they haunt my dreams.
And let's not forget about their cocktails. Cenaduría Selecta has an extensive selection, and they don't just taste great—they look fantastic too. If you're in the mood for something special, give the Carajillo a try. Its complex flavor will leave you speechless.
Trust me, if you find yourself in Mexicali, Cenaduría Selecta is a must-visit. The whole experience, from the friendly staff to the breathtaking decor, will leave you with nothing but good memories. So, take my word for it and make sure to include it in your Mexicali trip. You won't be disappointed! In the end, I had ordered drinks, an appetizer, and an entree for two if you do the same without concern for the price, you can expect about a $50-$60 bill or...
Read moreWe called to try and make a reservation, but they do not make reservations on the weekends. We got there about 10:45 and they gave us a pager, they were gonna buzz us in there was a 30-minute wait. When I went to ask if we were close to being seated, they told me almost that they were cleaning some tables, after about 5min everyones pages started going out except ours. When I asked what happened, she said that they called us, but our pager never went off, and we had to wait a few more minutes. By this time, it was almost 12-noon. We were about to leave super hungry and angry when someone said we could come in.
They had a buffet that we should have gotten because we were so hungry and it was ready to serve, but we decided to order from the menu. The food took a good 40 minutes 😢 so we were having breakfast at close to 1pm.
I am not sure if we were so unlucky or if this is common at this restaurant.
We ordered the caldo tlalpeño it had good flavor in my opinion it just needed a little more broth.

Read moreWarm, attentive service with a first rate traditional menu. Portions are abundant and flavors natural and home-inspired. The beer is local and served ice cold in a frosty mug. I ordered Chicharrones en salsa roja, thick cut stewed pork cracklins in a heady red chile sauce. My dad ordered a Carne Asada Tampiqueña, thin grilled steak, enchilada and fresh guacamole. He couldn't finish it. Total cost about $26. The bill is tallied in both dollars and pesos. I tipped $4. If your car needs a cleaning, the parking attendants will wash your car's exterior for a few bucks while you eat. For a couple more bucks he will clean the inside also - an incredible value! This is a traditional local food place where you can find the...
