Review of Galería Urbana Café + Bistro, Mexicali
Nestled in the heart of Mexicali, Galería Urbana Café + Bistro is a delightful culinary gem that deserves every bit of attention it gets. The bistro strikes a perfect balance in its menu selection - comprehensive enough to cater to varied tastes, yet not overwhelming.
Starting with their breakfast offerings, the breakfast burrito is an absolute winner. It's packed with flavors that wake up your taste buds and prepare you for the day ahead. Another notable dish is the steak and egg plate, which is a masterclass in flavor. It's hearty, satisfying, and just what you need for a substantial morning meal.
The chilaquiles, available in both red and green varieties, stand out with their rich and vibrant flavors. Each bite is a mix of traditional taste and culinary innovation, showcasing the chef's skill in balancing spices and ingredients.
Moving on to the lunch menu, the cheeseburger is a standout. It's juicy, flavorful, and just the right kind of indulgent. For those who prefer something a bit lighter, the club sandwich is an excellent choice. It's well-prepared, with each layer adding its own unique taste and texture to the whole.
Galería Urbana is more than just a place to eat; it's a spot where you can enjoy a quick, delightful meal in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. If you find yourself in Mexicali, this bistro is...
Read moreIt's definitely not the right place on a Sunday it's loud and annoying. The place is packed and lacking enough service. Got to give it to the staff trying their best in a losing battle with a bunch of premadona customers asking for all the usual nonsense and being extra. The food was not that great. I ordered the steak and eggs, and it comes with a side of refried beans and green chilaquiles. I literally had to pull out my own sharp knife to cut the rubbery steak, and the burnt over easy eggs were quite a feat being burned on the bottom and runny on top got to ask the chef how he pulled that off. The coffee was decent, a little weak for my taste, the decor. I never really care as long as the food is good, and today, it was a losing battle for my taste buds. Wont be coming back, and all the time I have been eating here, I keep thinking I should have gone to the restaurant on the opposite side of this little plaza so come here on any other day than a Sunday and give it a try to see if this little bistro is to...
Read moreI recently visited with my family, and it was a mixed bag. I ordered the Grand Slam, which was pretty good and satisfying. My brother had the waffle, but it wasn’t hot, just warm. However, my dad's experience was quite disappointing. He ordered the omelette chicharrón, but it arrived cold – not even warm. We sent it back to be heated up, but it came back cold again. To make matters worse, the manager didn't address the issue, and we ended up paying full price for a meal that wasn't enjoyable. The wait time was also excessive; it took an hour for the food to arrive after a 30-minute initial wait. Overall, I had a decent meal, but my family's experience and the lack of customer service were...
