Oja is definitely a beautiful, vibey spot…everything from the entrance to the table setup was stunning and set great expectations. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the ambiance.
I went for my birthday with a group, and everyone received their food except me. When we asked about it, our waiter said my meal would be out “in 3 minutes,” but it ended up taking another 30 minutes, which was long after everyone else at the table had already finished eating. During that time, he avoided our table and never checked in, so we eventually had to flag down the manager to explain what was going on.
To their credit, the manager handled it well. He did comp my entire meal and even brought me a tequila shot, which I appreciated. When my dish finally did arrive, it still wasn’t made the way I ordered, but the food itself was good.
At the end of the meal, the waiter mentioned he was new, which we do understand…but the part that bothered me most was the lack of communication and no real apology after the mistake. It felt like we had to flag down multiple people to try and get things. The place has a lot of potential and the atmosphere is great, but the service definitely needs some...
Read morePlace is super cool and love the deco and vibe. Love the design and the zebras by the entrance.
Our food experience was horrible. Menu was limited and they run out of dishes when we tried to order them. Saturday at 5 pm. Our shrimp dish was awful, shrimp felt half frozen and not fully cooked. Don’t get this lol. Tomahawk was absolutely not well cooked as we requested mid-well it came mid-rare. We were offered a hot pan to cook it in our table but I didn’t go to a Korean bbq to cook my own meat so no thanks. They don’t have English menu or even printed menu. I got the lamb and it was just ok. Probably better than all the dishes we got. We were told menu changes frequently and i sure hope so because most of the items look meh when we went. We were advised that tomahawk will take 30 minutes and we decided to get all out dishes at once and have dinner together instead of getting them at a different time and it took more than one hour. So consider that ;)
A bit over price for food and quality you get but that’s so normal in el valle.
Service was good and will definitely will come but just for drinks not for food. It gets busy and kinda a good place to...
Read moreThis place is in a hidden spot at the edge(outside) of "El Valle de Guadalupe" on the main Blvd that takes you straight to "El Sauzal, Ensenada". The experience you receive since you drive in is amazing. You can see and feel the detailed attention to the architecture and everything else. They have Valet Parking and reservations available/encouraged but not required. They have Zebras!! Or possible donkeys with stripes? LOL! The type of food they have is not 100% my taste but I do like salmon so I went with that and let me tell you 😋 One problem is that it was half way done (that's the way it comes) so I asked for more of a well done salmon! The "Pulpo Agua Chile" was a bit spicy but my husband did say it has been the best yet! Dessert was delicious, REGULAR coffee available NO DECAF. I DID NOT see kids menu however I did see a High chair. The tippy houses are so beautiful.. assuming you do need a prior representation for that. You must visit! (Attire is Business Casual and above). Btw they have a small leather goods boutique at...
