Café Rosé — Restaurant in Chihuahua

Mixed feelings about the place. My teen daughter wanted to have a girls day this weekend, we made plans to watch the Barbie movie, do some shopping, and grab lunch. The day before she had mentioned seeing this place on IG, we decided to check it out since it was on theme with our pink outfits for the movie. I figured it might be very busy with the Barbie movie/pink theme so we went in an “off time” (3pm) late enough to miss the lunch crowd and early enough to beat the dinner rush. I googled it for directions and to check hours of operation and headed over. I didn’t realize how tiny the establishment is, so in turn very limited parking. We had to park elsewhere and walk there. When we walked in I noticed the bakery counter to the left, I initially thought it was just a bakery and coffee shop so we were looking at their selection, there was 3-4 employees behind the counter, no greeting from any of them. Finally one of them directed us to the hostess stand, this young lady was very polite and asked us under what name the reservation was in…I told her I didn’t realize a reservation was required but she offered to go see if something could be done. She came back, told us there was an available table and she was just going to clean it for us. We waited a short while and were sat, there were a few other customers but not overtly busy. We decided on our choices and waited, my daughter wanted to take pictures but I told her to wait until after we placed our orders. We waited, and waited. Another couple was sat after us and they had already received their drink orders. We were being patient, after all they were kind enough to sit us without a reservation, but it was ridiculous. The hostess noticed we were still sitting with menus on the table, she asked if we’d been helped, told her no, she said she was getting our server and brought us water. Nothing. A young man approached us and asked if we’d been helped, said no, he said he’d send someone….no one came. Another young lady came later asked the same thing, “oh!! Let me get your server” …nothing. The hostess was cleaning a table near us, I asked her if someone could please help us, she was shocked no one had taken our order and went to find someone. Finally, someone came to the table, said she was going to get a pen to take our order and the wait continued. This is a very SMALL establishment, there is no way a table can be missed. Staffing seemed more than adequate there were approximately 8 employees plus those in the back, finally I told my daughter to go take pictures while I waited to place the order, we gave up after waiting half an hour. We walked out. It’s “cute” in a kitschy, cheap pink flowers and teddy bears on the wall way, not something to go out of your way to make a reservation for. I wish I would have read the reviews prior. Some reviews pointed out that the employees are young and the place is new, a lot of these issues wouldn’t be issues with proper training and a soft opening to iron out the kinks. Went today Sunday 2/18/24, because my wife likes the normal girly pink things as most do and the restaurant is pretty pink. The food however is NOT recommended. I ordered the red chilaquiles and they come with a scoop of beans. The food was COLD and that’s after waiting for 15 minutes for our orders. They barely put any sour cream on the food and barely any shredded cheese on it which of course didn’t melt on the cold food. The red chilaquiles I ordered also didn’t have any hint of spice or flavor really. Just horrible for the $13 price. Portion was good if I can say atleast that was a positive. Very beautiful place but horrible service. We were the only customers in there and they still got our order wrong. We calmly and respectfully let them know of the mistake and they showed insane disrespect with dirty looks and being straight up rude. Me and my family were very sad that this was our experience there. Don’t recommend there are other cafes that are pretty and pink and much better service.
