This place is pretty elegant with table cloths and all sorts of tableware. Anyways, I can't say enough about the food. I sampled 4 different appetizers and they were all good. We had the guacamole. Ribeye chicharrones (they weren't as crispy as I would have liked), the seared tuna and the smoked pork cheek. My favorite was the pork cheek. I also really liked the meaty tortilla chips and salsa. For my meal I had fish over a risotto. The fish was excellent as was the risotto. The risotto really impressed me because a lot of places can't get it right (including Italian restaurants), but this place did a fantastic job. The fish name was unfamiliar, but it was explained to me it was considered the best tasting fish in the Sea of Cortez, and it didn't disappoint. Many people at our table ordered steak which is the specialty of the house. I'm not a meat fan so I didn't try any other than the ribeye chicharones with nice hand made tortillas and guacamole. So good! The desserts were phenomenal. I sampled four different desserts. The only one that did not appeal was the pastel de elote. It did not taste like a dessert. The other desserts were pretty decadent and lucious. What ruins the ambiance and atmosphere is the damn TV and the busy dial tone from the bar phone. Really!?! Such a lovely place with fantastic food only to have it ruined by visual distractions and a busy dial tone. The service was impeccable and attentive. It is a pricey spot, but a good place for an anniversary, date night, or even a birthday party. One of the things that impressed me was that they had free day care for small children which helps...
Read moreOk but you can tell they just opened.
Came here a few days after the opened and it was pretty evident that they were still putting their act together.
The place is beautiful, what you would come to expect from this restaurant group although I do have to say the host staff was perhaps a bit impolite, maybe even pompous?
Food was great overall, expensive for a place like Torreon but you get good quality food and if you are into northeastern Mexican food this is a great option.
Atmosphere in general was fantastic, they spared no expense in putting this place together, I came here for lunch but I can see this place being super lively for dinner on a weekend.
Prices again are a bit high but you should know that coming in. My only complaint perhaps is that our waiter was very insistent on us getting a more expensive meat cut when we had already made up our minds and had ordered more than enough food.
Overall a pretty good place for a night out or a special ocation. My photos are pretty bad and don’t...
Read moreI was recommended this restaurant, but honestly, it left me with a very bad impression. The waiter suggested I try the “carne en su jugo”, and it was a huge disappointment — the dish looked and tasted like dog food, with no presentation or flavor.
When the plate arrived, I honestly thought it was a joke. The side of potatoes looked and tasted like bagged chips, nothing special at all. Service was just average, and when it came time to pay, the person in charge suggested I leave a 15% tip, but I only left 10% since the service didn’t deserve more.
Overall, a very disappointing experience. Fortunately, the next day my coworkers took me to another restaurant nearby called Steak Palenque, and that one is 100% recommended — great service, amazing flavor, and a completely...
