La Parrilla — Restaurant in Compostela

We had an amazing Christmas Eve Dinner at Daniels Pastabilities in Guayabitos and another great Dinner at Avanti for Christmas Day. The service was amazing at both restaurants, which has prompted me to post this review of another restaurant we went to for the first time, last week.

Our friend was delayed one extra day here in La Penita, so we decided to try a restaurant that we had not been too (for his last supper!).

People seem to rave about La Parrilla - so we gave it a try.

We felt so bad for the one and only waiter - who multitasked as the bartender making all the specialty drinks as well as taking orders, delivering drinks and food….etc…

He was run off his feet with several tables to wait on — between making drinks. Hence it took a long while to get our first drink - and place an order. We decided on nachos thinking that would be quick and easy to start. Then realized the cook was also on his own — multitasking as best he could as well. It was a long wait for sure so we decided nachos was it and headed to our favourite place—Jose’s Tacos!

These fellows did an amazing job and worked very hard to serve their customers; All the while their (a fellow Canadian) boss sat at the corner of the bar; smoking cigarettes and drinking with his friends. Sadly I believe the waiter also made his drinks for him!!

After seeing him not lift one finger to help these fellows — I can safely say we will never return to this establishment and I hope the waiter and the cook find other employment with a boss who chips in when needed!

We tipped the waiter directly as well as the cook, to ensure they were recognized for their efforts and will stick to the local family restaurants where everyone lends a hand to ensure a...

After hearing so many good things about this place I decided to give them a try. I tried placing an order with them to be delivered. The one fellow I spoke with told me he's only lived here for 2 days and didn't know where the address I gave him was, he passed the phone over to the owner who claimed he couldn't hear me yet the other fellow heard me just fine. The music was blaring so loud in the background it's no wonder the owner couldn't hear me, he got frustrated and hung up on me!!! Not a real good way to conduct...

My family and have a blast everytime we cisit this place, music dancing and just all around great vibes, food is great service is awesome, those guys sure know hownto bring the fun, and also have all the sports channels available, just ask the servers and they puut anything from hockey, and football, to soccer and nba, whichever your preference is, they have four TV's.
