El Texano — Restaurant in El Fuerte

I had lunch here yesterday afternoon on Thursday and the town was pretty much empty, save for locals. I was the only person in the restaurant. Its sort of outside dining, but a large canopy covers you from the sun and its pleasant.

The staff was great and I ordered Chilaquiles Rojo con Pollo. It came with frijoles refrito on the side. The plate could easily be shared between two people and I could barely finish it, but it was delicious.

Food was good, the tamales were really good, beans were mid and burritos were nice too. The service was excellent, it was kinda hot because of the weather since they just put fans that kinda help. A complaint i have is that one person from the staff was hitting a dog so he go, when the dog didn’t go he start throwing water at him when the dog was in the street and it’s public property. I have visited a lot of places but the service here has been the worst of the worst. The waitress needs better manera and form of serving food to customers. The food that we all ordered was cold and the shrimp wrapped in bacon was raw, not to mention the rice as well was cold.
