Menudo Michoacan — Restaurant in Ensenada

I am a big fan of menudo and have had it from many different restaurants--this is by far is the best. I like that they offer it with or without the homeny. If you have never had it without, I highly recommend it. The flavor is more intense. This place offers many options, for example they offer you bolillo bead or tortillas, each region in Mexico accompanies their menudo differently. The salsas are fantastic. After the drive down from Long Beach and La Puente, CA, my copilot Vicki's suggestion of breakfast at la Michoacan was both welcome and spot-on.

We both had bowls of the pozole rojo 😘, with the full array of salsas and garnish. It was delicious! Great details like very thinly sliced radishes, finely diced onion and cilantro, and garden fresh Serrano chiles.

The quality has decreased. This used to be the best menudo. This last time the menudo was warm and they didn’t serve you as much. The bread was cold too and the tortillas are no longer freshly made. There were 7 people in our group this morning and everyone was disappointed. The restaurant has expanded and more seating is available. If you get here before 9am you usually don’t wait in line. After 9am, they have a sign in for seating. We won’t be coming...
