Shirami Sushi bar — Restaurant in Ensenada

The we ordered miso and the mushroom appetizer, which were both very good. The miso had mushrooms and seaweed as well as tofu. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was.

The sushi was the only issues. It has the potential of being very good. I just think the rice was not completely fresh so it distracted from the overall taste of the rolls. The rice was kind of al dente or mildly dehydrated if you know what I mean. But otherwise like I said the sushi would have been very good indeed. The only thing that I think really needs improvement, keeping the rice fresh, was the eel. It was not good. I don’t know what they can do to make it better. Maybe get a different kind or cook it better I don’t know but that eel was not good.

Overall our visit was a good one. The atmosphere was nice. They didn’t blast the music as some restaurants are want to do. The place was relatively clean, though I can’t say the same about their bathrooms. The bathrooms were not very well maintained.
