The food here is fantastic. This is five stars in itself. The tortillas are for each taco and are able to hold a ton. This said, we sampled the following tacos:
Pork ($3): Nicely spiced and perhaps the most liberally filled taco, as far as meat is concerned, that I can remember having. This was by far my favorite taco.
Birria ($3): Also filled liberally, perhaps not as much as the pork, but still juicy beef. Get the cheese with em. Excellent and Birria folks will be happy with it.
Lobster ($13): Lidia touts itself as a lobster taco joint. I actually found this my least favorite of the three sampled, but still ok. They are pricey.
We live in NC, and the $3 price-point is comparable to trucks and joints we frequent.
The crowd here is a total pain. Tour byses from cruise ships frequent La Bufadora, so they naturally bring a ton of patrons at one time. And man, do they ever. We found service decently fast, but the real issue I have is the lack of seating. This is a real issue as they just don't have the setup/space to accommodate the mass of people who clearly know what a good taco is. We found a seat after standing around for about 15 minutes, food in hand. We ended up sharing a table with random people.
Look, the tacos are great, the prices are good (sans the $13 lobster taco), and Lidia has something going. But man, the seating issue irks me, and I can't fathom how Lidia could correct this other than expanding where there isn't any room to expand.
Come at an off time (is there an off time?) and reap...

Our tour guide recommended this after our la bufadora tour, so we trusted we would be treated fairly. When our order was ready they shorted us 2 tacos. I had to argue awhile with them and show them my receipt that I did order 7 tacos and they only gave me 5. They finally tossed me 1 more taco, making it 6 out of 7 I paid for, and didn't get the avocado on it I ordered.
Frustrated we sat down and ate, it wasn't until we were leaving I remembered we order 2 alcoholic drinks that also never arrived (these were kind of pricey, comparred to the taco prices) I went to ask for them and they again tried to charge me extra, I had to have my tour guide tell them I already paid and was still waiting.
Again the food was delicious, im just very disappointed that they take advantage of tourists knowing we won't return to dispute the food and drinks they short you.
So if you do go here check your order before leaving the...

All of the buzz and life of good food is apparent as soon as you walk in....the smell, the views of what is on other peoples plates and the lonnnnng lines that moves fast enough for a hungry belly not to get hangry.
I'm a cheese girl and was tipped off that the quesodilla taco is it..
So I ordered 2 beef quesodilla tacos....mmmm mmmm mm. First, do not, I repeat do not be fooled by what us Americans call quesodilla...Nope, this IMO (in my opinion) is much better. The cheese is grilled by itself and placed on the freshly made large corn tortilla (or you can pick flour) you can taste and feel the freshness..that tortilla melts in your mouth. But the grilled cheese, on the top of the grilled tortilla and topped with your meat of choice...was a delight and 2...
