The plastic furniture was awful—probably added for the weekend or St. Valentine's Day to accommodate more guests. It was a poor decision for the restaurant to attempt this without sufficient capacity, both in terms of staff and kitchen resources. There were also not enough tablecloths, napkins, or purse holders to meet the expectations and serve quality to so many guests.
We asked for a dirty tablecloth to be changed, but it was replaced with another filthy one. At that point, we probably should have left to avoid further negative experiences. We also requested a purse holder, but were told they were all taken and we would have to wait. After 1.5 hours, we never received a purse holder or even an extra chair for my purse.
We only got napkins after asking for the fourth time, and by then, our hands were greasy from the horrible escamoles tacos (which was why we came to this restaurant in the first place). We ordered two tacos of escamoles but were served two tacos of different sizes. When we asked the waiter to correct it, he returned with the same plate, just reheated. You can see the difference in serving sizes in the photo.
One taco with aguachile was just an oily potato taco with seven tiny pieces of fish on top. My margarita was terrible, served in a glass with salt all over it, which was unpleasant—especially for someone with sensitive skin on their hands.
The picaña steak was fine, but considering all the other issues, including the waiter directly asking for a tip amount while delivering the bill, I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. I don’t understand why the locals like it so much. If you've been to places around the world to compare, you definitely won’t want to...
Read moreAlways great. I had the beef rib that is roasted for 4 hours and melts in your mouth while every bite delivers a burst of flavor that is not to be missed. This dish should be shared by two or more but I managed to eat the whole thing somehow. How are you supposed to stop eating anything so delicious? Of course the atmosphere, service, and food were amazing as always. The server brought an English language menu. I think he could guess I was...
