Clandestina 74 León — Restaurant in Guanajuato

My wife and I arrived in Leon late at night and wanted to relax in our hotel with some take out. This restaurant was recommended to us so we gave it a try. We both ordered a steak, as we were in beef country. When the food arrived in a styrofoam container with the cheapest possible cutlery I began to get worried. Then we opened up the boxes and indeed my fears had come true. The food was poorly prepared and just thrown into a box and full of oil. I ordered my steak medium rare, which ended up cold and bloody inside. My wife who only eats steak well done got hers cooked rare. We contacted the restaurant and asked them for a refund as the meal was nothing like we expected or asked for given the price we paid. The restaurant was unwilling to give anything and we were told to have a good night. I can’t say what the service is like for those dining in the restaurant, but if our takeout experience was any reflection, it can’t be good. We were in town visiting Central Mexico and happened upon this little gem. It has a creative and unique interior with different small dining rooms. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly. They have a very unique cocktail menu. The Gaviota was the one I picked and enjoyed. We loved the Chicharon Norton appetizer. We finished off with two small pizzas. Both were good. Our favorite was the Carpachio. All in all it was excellent. The prices were reasonable too....

Asistimos yo y mi esposa el día 16 de octubre 2021, el lugar es cómodo, tienen un concepto diferente, tienen mucho personal. Pero para empezar no cuentan con estacionamiento, aun así el valer parking fue amable pero estaciono el coche en la calle. Ya dentro nos ofrecieron una mesa, y nos dieron un vaso de agua, estábamos emocionados por que nos habían recomendado el lugar y nos gusta conocer lugares nuevos. Pero la sorpresa fue qué a los 10 minutos fe qué nos llevaron el menú digital, tuve que salir a buscar a algún mesero para poder ordenar ya qué nadie se acercaba, salí y ni así se acercaron a preguntar. Pasaron otros 15 minutos y mejor decidimos irnos ya qué al parecer nos habían olvidado, y o sorpresa cuando salimos de la nada salio un mesero qué nos siguió por las escaleras, y nos bloqueo el paso el arriba y abajo otra mesera, que en lugar de preguntar qué si todo estaba bien. Me pareció una burla qué nos haya preguntado que si habíamos consumido algo, y nosotros al contestar qué ni siquiera nos atendieron, solo respondió a caray y nos ofreció otras mesas en otra parte y nos dijo que nos iban a atender inmediatamente, hace falta atención al visitante o cliente. Nosotros en lo personal no volveríamos a ese lugar. Nos quedo un mal sabor de boca. Espero que a nadie le llegue a pasar como el mal momento que nos hicieron...
