Birriería Chololo — Restaurant in Jalisco

Guadalajara is famous for it's birria. It's a MUST! This is one of a few Chololo establishments. It is one delicious and very filling meals. The tortillas are freshly hand-made. You can even ask for a crispy tortilla and they'll gladly leave it on the comal longer. They have the consome which is seriously mouthwatering. Their beans topped with cheese can be an entree on its own. So good! I highly recommend anyone visiting Guadalajara go try a Birrieria Chololo...

When I went here I was very hopeful that this was an amazing restaurant. The birria was ok at best, and the beer selection was also limited. The beans with cheese are also just ok. There are so many great Birrieria places in Jalisco. I'm not sure if at one point they were great, but me and my friend who is a local said it was just average to below average birria. We came when it was just opening so there was no large crowds and everything looked and smelled great! The birria meat comes in big portions so choose wisely how much you can eat with your group. But the birria itself is just excellent! Saw this place on Netflix and definitely worth it! It is on the more expensive end but still great...
