Guadalajara Eats 2024 #14, Mariscos #8: One of our favorite spots for mariscos in Guadalajara.

We ordered a chupe* $55, torta ahogada pulpo $85, atun tostada* $65; taco blando de pulpo $52. x2 beers $45/ea

The torta was great, but our friends preferred the zarandeado torta with sauce on the side because of the charred texture of the bread. My favorite was the chupe as I loved the crispy texture of the tortilla and the large shrimp were cooked to perfection. The rest of my group's favorite was the taco blando de pulpo.

In addition to the above, I'd order a tostada de aguachile next time. The pulpo here is fantastic, but the quality/size/cut really depends from item to item (so sometimes you just have to get lucky).

Service leaves something to be desired as it's super hectic in here, but that's totally fine. Ambiance feels very local/authentic, and I really enjoy. Only downside is it gets quite hot and you (if like me) might stick to the leather chairs :D

Definitely a top spot...

Disgusting experience and unbelievably rude owner.

We came here excited to try the food, but were completely turned off when we found a dead fly in the soup and not just one that had just landed, this fly had clearly been in there a while. As soon as we noticed it, we calmly flagged down our server and let them know.

Instead of apologizing or offering any kind of resolution, the owner came over and accused us of putting the fly in the soup. Seriously? Why would anyone do that? The fly was clearly dead and bloated definitely not a recent addition. The way he spoke to us was unprofessional, defensive, and downright insulting.

We weren’t looking for a handout just a basic level of respect and accountability. Instead, we were met with attitude and blame. Never again.

Save your money and go somewhere that values cleanliness and...

Best sea food place in Guadalajara (and one of the best in Mexico). I discover this wonderful place thanks to some friends from Guadalajara. Since then I pay a visit every time I’m in town and strait from the airport. The fish quality and sixes of plates are just unbelievable. Is just exquisite!! Tuna tostada is incredible, and basically everything you order is huge, tasty and yummy. Price is quite ok also. I got 1 Tostada de Atún, 1 caldo de mariscos and water to drink for only 220 Mexican pesos (about 11$ US / 10€ EU). Service is always fast and kind.

The word on the Guadalajara street is that this is the best seafood restaurant in the city and who am I to disagree? Menu is like a book with a stunning amount of options. Amazing aguachile and torta ahogada with shrimp. They serve the very rare seafood pozole-a secret recipe from the Sinaloa coast. The Camarones a la diabla is the best i ever had. An army of chefs in the kitchen. Hundreds of celebrities have frequented this restaurant's corridors. The Best!
