Stunning view with excellent service. The staff was super attentive and helpful. We had reservations and were a party of 8 - when we arrived, our table was ready & the staff were waiting and ready to assist.
They had both a Spanish & English version of the menu available, which was great for the 2 Americans. The menu is clear and had a fair amount of options that were accurately described.
The food was prepared to order and took a reasonable amount of time to be prepared. Our food was served as soon as it was ready and all dishes came out at the same time.
Overall, the food is a good attempt at American food. Flavors are ok and need a little more refinement/work to be memorable. At our table we had (1) the ribs which were very tender in a lot of american style bbq sauce. The fries were bland and the corn was delicious. (2) Salmon & veggies - good just needed a little more flavor. Veggies were super bland. (3) The 3 cheese pasta - a bit bland but has potential to be excellent. The cheese sauce needs a little work to add depth to flavor. (4) 2 people at our table ordered steak dishes- both were cooked to the correct temperature and good.
Beautiful view and great staff!! The food is good with the potential to be great. While the prices are higher than most restaurants in Melaque,...
Read moreWe arrived for lunch an hour before the Moon was open. One person in our party was mobility impaired and had driven up with his parents from Monzanillo. The kitchen was empty of staff when we walked in. Instead of sending us away, the Moon's manager Gil offered us a table and something to drink. He then suggested we could order something delivered from El Patio, a Melaque restaurant Gil is also associated with -- which we did. In a just few minutes, we were eating omlettes and burritos. Such a kindness for a special-needs customer! We were so grateful not to have to pack up and head back to the street, especially since the mistake was ours. Talk about service above and beyond!! Gil was busy setting up, but he still took time to make this happen. So thoughtful. The following day, I went back, on time, for a birthday lunch. Only now the restaurant was busy. The food and service were fantastic. Prices were good. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Our server was great. This restaurant is a special addition to our area with a very special manager and staff. A big...
Read moreThe restaurant opens at 5pm on Sunday evening. Our group of five arrived at 5:30. We were the only customers. Ordered beverages. Although there's an extensive bar menu we were told that margaritas were not available! I ordered a Coke. It was served at room temperature (28°C) in a can. By the time it was cooled by the meager amount of ice I was given it was tasteless. Two of us ordered fish and chips and then watched as our prepared meals sat on a counter for nearly 15 minutes before being served; lukewarm and soggy. The fish was tasteless. The unseasoned breading was just plain flour, not tempura as advertised. The fries were the cheap, everyday store bought variety and were also lukewarm and soggy. Although we were the only customers, the kitchen staff could not serve our five meals, hot and fresh, at the same time. And considering that we were the only customers, the service provided by the lone waitress was mediocre at best. After advertising itself as an upscale restaurant, the Moon was a failure in all but one regard;...
