Restaurante Save Av. México — Restaurant in Jalisco

Having lived four summers in Guadalajara for work, I have had the honor of trying out countless restaurants in this city alongside my wife, who is also a "foodie". I took her this year to Save for her birthday.

This place ranks number-one in mariscos-type seafood of anyplace I have dined at in all of Mexico and the U.S..

For our visit (a crowded Saturday afternoon), the ambiance was perfect, the food was impeccable and the service was truly professional.

The chef that is charged with creating the dishes must be truly in love with his craft, to produce such perfection. Guadalajara is full of expensively constructed restaurants that are constructed to sell you an appearance of sophistication. I am delighted to see that I have found a place in GDL that simultaneously delivers five-stars in all of the requisites of a good restaurant; (a) comfort in the setting/ambiance, (b) professionalism in service, (c) outstanding food, (d) a reasonable price.

The food here is honestly really good — flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. If I were rating based on the kitchen alone, it would easily be 4 or 5 stars.

However, the service left me extremely uncomfortable. Some of the waiters were unprofessional and made inappropriate comments that crossed the line. What could have been a great dining experience was completely overshadowed by their behavior.

Good food means nothing if guests don’t feel respected and safe. I hope management takes this seriously and trains their staff properly, because the atmosphere right now does not match the quality...

I have come to these restaurants several times and usually it's a great experience. On this last occasion there were a few issues. We ordered everything at the same time and it came out in staggered by quite a a bit of time. Somehow they brought the hot plate out before the cold plates, my friends food hot cold and they didn't care. They messed up a few items on the order and refused to replace them. One item we didn't order and they wouldn't take it off the bill even after talking to the manager. This is not the customer service that I have come to know at this place, as such I suggest...
