OMG!! what a great restaurant!! We came after watching a YouTube video of people visiting Chichén Itzá, and this was one of their stops post ruins and post cenote visit! Their main specialty, is called Poc Chuc, which is a thin sliced pork grilled, served with beans, onions, cilantro, delicious home made tortillas and a spicy sauce(very spicy). They also serve encamisado which is an egg cooked inside a tortilla. Omg!! Delicious!! We also tried the chorizo which was a little spicy but yummy! The service is great!! So friendly and welcoming!!! There is free parking, but when we got there it was full so we parked across where they were charging $20 Mexican pesos. I loved the fact that everything is homemade and they invite you to go see their cooking process!! Everything smelled so yummy while back there!! We came at around 430-5pm and it was already full with locals…you know that’s always a great sign of excellent food! We were about to skip it because we didn’t want to get caught out in the darkness, but decided to go anyways! So glad we did! We also got to try real gum…sold there, that was awesome treat! For dessert we had the flan which was delicious 🤤! I also ordered agua de Chaya which was a lemony water with the herb Chaya, first time trying it and it was very refreshing. They also have music playing, a lovely gentleman playing the piano, kept the place lively! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. If we ever return we will definitely...

OMG!!! What a fantastic find!! 💞 I can't believe they have a big sign by the road to attract more visitors. The reason we found this place is that we got a recommendation from our airBnB host and it was exactly what we needed. La Tia De Kaua (named after 'The Aunty of Kaua' a beautiful old lady, who I got to meet) is a family run restaurant that is open from morning to 6pm. They make everything from scratch every day! They even make their corn flower for their tacos themselves, right there on the premises. I was given a tour to look in the kitchens and was allowed to make my own taco which they then baked especially for me. What an experience! 😃 The staff were so friendly and accommodating, it feels like I've known them for years. It's the perfect stop after visiting the ruins and/or cenotes in Chichen Itza! My tips: Be there on time because they close at 6pm and bring cash as they don't have their own...

This place has the worst attention, they are rude and the food is disappointing. The traditional poc-chuc is disappointing, it hasn't a good taste. And when we went they said to us that everything in the menu was "cancelled" but it was only for us, because they were serving to the others normally. Don't spend your money and time in that place. You should go to "el príncipe de Tutul Xiu" (look for it in Google, I did a post in Google of their restaurant) the food is delicious, it is traditional yucatecan cuisine (no, I don't know the owners, I don't have any relationship with them, I just love good food and great attention, and if you're visiting Yucatan, you deserve a great attention and amazing food). In "La tía de Kaua" their favorite word is:...
