We have tried several Japanese places in Merida and so far, this was the best quality ramen served. It was full of flavour and a decently cured egg (always a good sign) and, importantly, to the taste of my young daughter, who has a particular liking for 'noodle soup'. It is on the expensive side at 275 for a bowl of Ramen, none of which had a particularly high cost to source. The udon camarón tempura was light and well flavoured, though to serve one tempura camarón in such a large bowl of udon noodles with very little else going in, I felt a little short changed, especially since this is not a cheap place. Since this place is on top of the multistorey building, handiest is to park in the parking lot. We had expected it on the street corner, but there is a sushi place there, not the same business! It's an odd location and it feels like you have to navigate several nightlife venues on the too floor before arriving at this restaurant. Reception and device was very friendly and helpful. There are views over the city, which is a curiosity in famously low-rise Mérida, but the building sticks up awkwardly among residential areas. Personally, the view is not worth returning for, but I can imagine some like this aspect...
Read moreI lived in Japan and also ate a lot of high quality sushi in Los Angeles for many years, which has tons of Japanese immigrant owner restaurants. Here in Merida, this place is the best by far. I also tried Miyabe a few times but its really not anything great to me. It would be consider low quality in Los Angeles and terrible in Japan. However, Hanaichi has a much better quality of fish and better crafting of the sushi and rolls. Bigger rolls, nigiris and more generous portions of fish. Its not authentic, but its much more authentic than all other places in Merida. Again, its the best that Merida has and we enjoyed it. The service staff is also very fast and professional. Being located on a rooftop with a nice view is also great. We will come...
Read moreBest sushi I’ve had in Merida and PDC. The food was really good but the drinks were not. They also didn’t have ingredients for some of the drinks. We ate outside and the atmosphere wasn’t as nice as we thought it would be as it appeared a little worn down though the view over the city was pretty nice. I would definitely return for the food but would like her drinks from...
