Huitzilli Saludable — Restaurant in Mérida

Absolutely phenomenal hidden vegan gem in Merida 😍 The restaurant is tucked away in a small side street and in what first looks like a normal family home. I actually walked right past it initially 😅

I was there on a Saturday early afternoon and had the entire patio area to myself. The waitress greeted me warmly and turned on the fan and pointed it in my direction. Was a nice way to welcome me to the restaurant on a very hot and sunny day 🥵

I can only repeat what others have said: the food is absolutely delicious and I ate every bite! (Actually I couldn't finish the piece of chocolate cake I had for dessert because it was HUGE, but I took it home and will enjoy it tonight or tomorrow 😍

I really liked the Tampiqueña Vegana, was a nice mix of different things, three smaller warm and yummy enchiladas, well-prepared and tasty seitan, and a delicious cold ceviche with quinoa (as well as a side of rice and a small salad). The portion sizes were perfect, this was a great meal! And as someone who LOVES salsa (the hotter the better), let me tell you that the three salsa variations on the side were also all delicious!

And the chocolate cake - ohhhh the cake! It was the perfect texture, rich and fudgy but not tooo sweet, with blueberries and strawberries on top it actually felt almost healthy 😄 Muy muy muy delicioso!

I paid 295 MXN + tip for these two generously sized items plus a drink, which is more than fair! I left with a full belly, a delicious taste in my mouth, and and smile on lips 😊

The service was also excellent. And the rest of the staff in the kitchen were super nice as well.

If you're vegan in Merida, you have to support this place! And even if you aren't vegan, I dare you to give them a try! I promise you won't be disappointed!!

Stayed in Merida for a couple of days with my boyfriend. We've been travelling around Mexico and honestly this place is a hidden gem. Its about a 15min drive from central Merida but the food is absolutely delicious. I found it on Google and went by previous reviews and I wasn't let down at all. Its quite hard to find Mexican vegan food but this place had it all. We tried loads off the menu and all tasted great. The prices are the cheapest we have had and the mango juice was fresh. This vegan restaurant is a hidden gem in Merida!😍 Great outside dining in the garden. There's a huge selection of vegan versions of traditional Mexican dishes, prices are good, and staff very friendly and attentive. We ended up ordering the vegan combo with a variety of dishes for $250 (see it in the photos) and we were not disappointed. Everything tasted great and portion-wise it was more than enough for two people. 👌
