The Italian Coffee — Restaurant in Mérida

You won't be impressed by the coffee here if you're hoping for a bold expresso that is smooth on the taste buds. The coffee here is below average for the price. It had an acidic taste to it and left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth. I'm quite surprised by it seeing how the expresso machine looks pretty exquisite with the potential of making a decent expresso at first glance. Looks are deceiving is where I'm going with this statement. Perhaps it's in dire need of being descaled, and settings need to be configured on the machine itself. Or the coffee bean itself being low grade quality?🤔 I've chatted with a few cafe owners here in Merida who have explained that not every café seems to know that there is daily maintenance required with expresso/latte machines. Especially when making coffee on such a large mass. Hopefully, the message will get passed around for crafting better results. The service here was average, nothing worthwhile mentioning good or bad. And the café itself was clean with lots of seating. But honestly, if you have no standards for good tasting coffee and just need a caffeine fix. Save some money and go by a coffee from oxxo.
