Café Tradicional — Restaurant in Michoacán

We went to this place because it had high reviews but was extremely disappointed by the entire experience. Usually in the states you need to wait to be seated and me and my children didn’t want to just go in and get a table so we stood there, at the entrance, waiting for someone to approach us. No one did, the staff was just staring, after 5 minutes of standing and feeling uncomfortable I went to the cashier and ask, she said we could seat where ever 😑. My children ordered oj and burgers with fries and I ordered Frappuccino and red chilaquiles. We all took 2 bites of our food, the buns were hard and the meat mushy, my chilaquiles had no flavor, the drinks were ok. Then an old man approached me asking if he could draw my children, they were excited so agreed. I know this man does it for a tip but when he was done he told me -I charge $200 mxn for each drawing 😮. I knew he was lying but didn’t want to cause a scene and could see the staff laughing and whispering to each other. None the less I paid both balances and we left. Won’t be coming back nor do I...

Si bien es un buen lugar para el café, no lo es tanto para la comida que sirven, pedí dos platillos y un postre, *Sopa de tortilla, El problema con la sopa es que abusan del consome de pollo, incluso el olor delata sabor a "Maruchan" de pollo, resulta increíblemente salada e incapaz de comer, *Parrillada de la casa, si bien más que una Parrillada, se trata de un "Alambre" los pimientos no estaban cocidos al 100% además de que se sirvieron fríos, lo que me da la impresión de que solo los agregaron al final, la carne el mismo problema, tan seca que juraría llevaba refrigerada un par de horas después de cocinada, y unos cuantos trozos enormes de cebolla que indicaban frustración al servir, y de la "Salsa" mejor ni hablar. *Chongos Zamoranos, hay armonía de sabores, la mezcla adecuada de canela, azúcar y leche cuajada, que en combinación con el capuchino que pedí, otorgan una experiencia única, definitivamente lo mejor de la noche. This place alone almost makes Uruapan worth a visit. The breakfasts are outstanding, with the best fresh-baked bread rolls I've found anywhere in Mexico. The service was also great (how often does a waitress come to your table several times to offer free coffee refills in Mexico?), and the coffee was good....
