Can’t Wait to Go Back
El Rollo is a fun water park for the entire family. There is something for everyone. El Rollo can be enjoyed all year long, since the town it is in, Jojutla, is warm all year long.
El Rollo isn't that crowded. The wait time for each ride is about 2-5 minutes. Sometimes, there is nobody in line at all! (The times we have gone have been during the week, so I’m not sure how crowded it gets on the weekend.)
The food that they have is only so-so. We had the rotisserie chicken, and it was bland. They do have a variety of restaurants (a Traditional Mexican food restaurant, Dominos Pizza, Subway sandwiches, Alas alitas, a hamburger stand, and a couple of snack bars). My recommendation is to bring your own food and drinks. I was happily surprised they allowed outside food and drinks to be brought in.
El Rollo is a very clean and organized park. There are lots of tables in shaded areas or with umbrellas. There are also a lot of pool chairs in the children’s section and near the wave pool. The temperature of the water is perfect. I have been to other water parks and public pools in Mexico and the water is often freezing at those places.
The lockers are very convenient (there are several locker locations). You can get a locker for $60 pesos or a private locked changing room for $100 pesos for the day. The private changing room will hold up to 5 suitcases.
The workers are very friendly and know the place very well so it is easy to find what you need (rides, bathrooms, restaurants, etc).
The best part (as it should be) is there’s a great variety of water slides. There are slides the family can do together, slides for 2 people, daredevil rides (like the Pendulum), a wave pool, a river with waves, a large area for little kids (at 3-4 PM there are foam bubbles), and a surfing/boogie board simulator (the simulator costs a little extra).

Read moreI visited El Rollo Parque Aquatico on January 26th. My family of 6 arrived around noon to rent a villa for the day which cost us 3,500 pesos or approximately $200 usd. The water in the jacuzzi was not warm and when we raised our concerns, we were told that they were looking into the problem. We waited 2 hours for the water to warm up and in that time the jacuzzi was checked 3 times. When we asked for a refund we were initially told that it was not possible because two hours had already lapsed, and that if we wanted a refund we should’ve asked for it when we first arrived at the villa. Instead they offered a 50% discount on our next visit, which needed to be by March 15th. That was not an option because I live in the U.S. and do not plan to come back to Mexico until next year. We insisted on receiving a full refund because they had us wait for the water to warm up, which it never did. In the end, they did issue us a full refund. We had to pay for the food and drinks we consumed in our short time there. I am very disappointed with our experience at El Rollo Parque Aquatico because I was told very good things about it and decided to visit while on vacation. They could’ve at least offered us free entry into the water park so we could enjoy what was left of the day, but unfortunately they didn’t. Hopefully others have a better experience...
