We stumbled across this restaurant by following the sound of the Golden Oldies 💛 There’s a sparse looking but air conditioned interior section and a beautifully decorated outdoor section with great overhead fans. The music and ambience outdoors was way better than indoors! We enjoyed the music, made requests of the DJ/bartender (as the only table there on a Monday night, no one else minded!), and almost got coerced into karaoke. We received a complimentary bread, cheese and salsa tray which was very tasty. You conveniently scan a QR code to bring up an English menu. From a sanitary perspective, I always prefer scanning a QR code for a menu instead of a physical menu. It was also a nice little luxury that there is an English menu as not all restaurants in Mexico do this (nor should they be expected to). We ordered the skirt steak (which would probably feed two people) and the molcajete Casa Marina (which would also probably feed 2 people). Next time we’ll just share one entree. The skirt steak was cooked to our request for medium rare and was very good. The vegetable sides were very tasty. The molcajete was also good but not what I expected as I was expecting a sizzling molcajete whereas this was a cold molcajete. We took our leftovers to eat for lunch the next day and it was great! Some of the food is served on wooden trays, which are found to be naturally antibacterial and anti-fungal. There have been studies completed showing that wooden trays are safer than plastic trays. This study found that decontaminating wooden trays infected with Salmonella, Listeria and E.Coli, the bacteria died within 3 minutes while none died on the plastic trays. When contaminated boards were left unwashed overnight at room temperature, bacterial counts increased on the plastic, but none of the bacteria could be recovered from the wooden boards the next morning. This place is new (has only been open for a month) and is worth trying. We’ll be back again during our stay in Huatulco! Edit: 2nd time (everything still delicious) We ordered off of the Spanish menu which was slightly different than the English menu from last time. We had a seared tuna appetizer (special of the day) which was big enough to be an entree and was delicious. We had the Alexandrian salad with shrimp. It came with apple instead of peach and was fresh and very good. We had the BBQ pork ribs which were reminiscent of Chinese sweet and sour pork and we really enjoyed the flavours. I might order these with the sauce on the side next time to maintain the crispy dry ribs.

We were asked to go try Casa Marina by friends... The food was ok but not exceptional. Overall we didn't like the place, it is not well maintained as a building, also not very well as a business. The music is really loud in the evening, too much to have a conversation... But what we most disliked is eating in front of the sewage pump, which stinks and doesn't give you much appetite. Also there's probably a lot of people coming out drunk in the evening, it stinks of pee everywhere below the restaurant, which you can smell just walking by (and we've seen mariachis a few days ago, peeing directly on the wall of the restaurant...) It is full of roaches in this area because the construction workers of the residence behind it are not using the public toilet but the woods for their needs and it is a pretty gross area. Even though the food wasn't the worst (nor the best), we miss Ocean restaurant, which was delicate, food, service, decoration wise and which had beautiful views onto the beach and ocean.

Great food, friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Second time eating here in the last week and both times did not disappoint. Will be coming again.

We made Casa Marina our go to place while visiting Huatulco for a month. We love the the upbeat vibe there. Staying at nearby Cosmo, it’s convenient and easy. We only tried the breakfast menu: The food is tasty (try the 3 x veggie quesadilla!), the drinks are great, both con and sin alcohol (for a morning treat try the green or red smoothies!) and the service is attentive, professional and friendly. Herberto (host and main waiter) and Armando (bar man) together with the rest of the crew took really good care of us! You can request sports games on the main screen or battle it out on the “authentic” pool table. Ive even heard rumors of karaoke nights 🫣 I would recommend Casa Marina to anyone staying in the area -...
