Casa Tierra — Restaurant in Oaxaca

A total surprise on our trip. Came here needing some lighter food, and the restaurant prepped a extra light caldo de pollo with flor de calabaza. Also had the higaditos which was super yummy, and a poleo tea, which I ended up liking and drinking more of on subsequent days. Prices pretty fair especially compared to Oaxaca City.

There's also a super cute little market in the back with different artisan/crafts.

Casa Tierra is outstanding. The food is subtly complex and delicious, the house itself is an oasis in the middle of Tlacolula (flawless decoration, OMG that garden), the staff are kind and friendly. Go armed with patience and enough time as despite there seem to be more than enough personnel the service was remarkably slow, relaxed beyond the point of that being a cool feature. Hence the minus star, but overall a terrific experience. Congrats...
