Palapa Capitán Caribe — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

We’ve stayed for 4 days in Xcalak and came back to this place couple of times for a lunch and dinner because we loved the food. We think this is the best in town. Their homemade tortillas & salsas (ketchup, chipotle, hot sauces) are really good. They have schrimp, fish and different meat taco’s with some nice veggies and sauce. We also loved the burrito and hamburgers. Friendly service, you need to wait sometimes a little bit longer than in other taco places but that’s because they make it fresh. Definitely recommend! Incredible food, atmosphere, and service all at a reasonable cost. I stayed in Xcalak for two weeks and ate dinner here many nights. Benjamin and everyone else are all warm, welcoming, and were extremely helpful to my girlfriend and I as far as bridging the cultural gap in our first trip to Mexico. This is a small places in front of the sea. The prices are like in a fancy restaurant (seafood cocktail is 350 MXN, michelada is 110 cad with beer. But the quality of the food is low. Fish was not fresh and tasted like a pre cooked and heated for order. A seafood cocktail was very dry and a portion was the smallest we had in Yucatán.
